UPDATE: Mum was able to eat some apple purée today so that’s another win, and I got her to brush her hair as an exercise. It’s been an awesome few days and there’s always improvements, even from my morning visit to the afternoon/evening visit, she’ll show progress and say more words. One thing she hasn’t lost is her sense of humour (my whole family has always had a weird one) and and she thought it was quite funny when I said it would be funny if she pushed the buttons on the bed and folded herself like Nordberg in Naked...

UPDATE: Mum waa moved from the Neuro ward this morning into a ward that’s more geared towards recovery. It’s a much better environment. I go and visit her in the morning for a few hours, come home to feed the dog and get some stuff done, then head back up in the afternoon for a few hours… Today was the opposite of the other day when I struggled as it was the morning that got me today. Update: Mum was moved into the stroke/neurology ward this evening. As awesome as the nurses in ICU have been over the last week, there is a lot going on in there as expected and It’s nice that she’s in a calmer environment (the lights, noise, and constant movement would be overwhelming I imagine). She was immediately more relaxed and seemed to really enjoy the trip from ICU to her new ward. It was a really good day. Thanks again everyone.💪😌❤️

UPDATE: Mum, although still slightly sedated, was far more alert and responsive yesterday! She was nodding and shaking her head when we asked her a few things and even laughed/smiled when I cracked a little bit of a joke😃. They were going to try and remove the breathing hose while we were there and I was telling her that all she had to do was breathe on her own and that would be a huge victory. I feel like this is part of the issue. They were criticized heavily for going by the book in some cases and using judgement in others leaving it feeling like inconsistent application of the rules. It seems like now they’re strictly going by the book with zero room for judgement

IMO this was a decent day for the guys. They were all more chill, more of chatting and point interesting things (I only watch main events, tho). It wasnt the regular constant bs useless filler-talking non stop the WHOOOLE TIME. Good job. Having JS there is one of the reasons, FOR SURE. But I finally found it decent with RC and the Aussie. Maybe in daytime race they can see better? idk.........
