Mum was able to put her bottom teeth in and the speech pathologist was blown away by everything she saw today. We did some visual/verbal exercises today and mum did amazing. She’s now onto the next meal plan before just regular food as we both decided it would be best to ease her back in. Mum is finally going for an MRI on Tuesday to hopefully get to the bottom of what has been causing the pain for more than 2 weeks now. My sister went to the hospital to sort some things out after work and mentioned something that was a bit of a gut punch but, we’ll get through it. It was absolutely awesome having them race this series and I hope they can stay healthy down the stretch, win their respective championships then come back in 2027 full force. A pleasure to watch them race and also how well they handled themselves.

You can fill the void you think is missing. What a difference one night and some action can make! I knew today was going to be amazing. Mum woke up when I kissed her on the forehead with a big smile and she was talking and responding so well! She’s on antibiotics and they’re giving her an enema (sorry if tmi) as that was also causing some of the pain. I’m so stoked! Thank you for the messages my brothers. Well guys, my OG bulldog "Gator" almost made it to 15 y/o. He was 3 months shy. Crossed over the Rainbow bridge last Wednesday. I believe he had a heart attack and died in his sleep. I knew it was coming, just never wanted to think about it. I'm gutted right now. I had him since he was a pup. Hug your dogs and play with them while you can. I'm gonna miss him....😢

They finally got a urine sample (a temporary catheter) and sent mum for a CT scan just after midday. She was supposed to go for another one tonight for her brain but they said the first one took so much out of her that they would wait until tomorrow. Good days and bad days; I knew they were a part of this from early on. Today was another rough one for mum (the pain) but, she still had her moments in between that show she’s willing to continue pushing forward. STOP WRITING UDATE:😂 Mum cracked me up today so I decided to poke a bit of fun at myself. My sister went for a night out with all her work friends (she deserved it as she does so much for us and her daughters) and told me to tell mum “I love you”. Thank you guys. She’s doing way better today and hasn’t had pain since getting here two hours ago! She pulled the NG tube out the last two nights and the doctor and nutritionist are going to decide whether to put it back in or not. She was mega low in the bed and all crossed up with no support under right arm and I got it sorted on my own.l (she helped as much as she could). UPDATE: Mum was still a bit “off” during my morning/afternoon visit but way better during the afternoon/evening visit. The doctor came and checked on her and was really lovely and positive, It was during her lunch and when he saw that she was feeding herself (I load the spoon and she does the rest) he said “Oh! UPDATE: The move took a bit out of mum but she was good this evening. There was a visitor for an elderly gent across from mum that spoke French! We had a brief yet good conversation and mum was following along. She starts rehab/therapy tomorrow (this is a public hospital) and I’m looking forward to seeing more progress. I met her doctor today and he was the best I/we have dealt with so far. There’s a new digital system that was just rolled out a few days ago and the nurses are struggling and it’s got bugs of course. I’m going to keep doing this for a bit, then work on her doing it all. She’s now allowed to drink normal fluids (they have thickened drinks just incase swallowing too much causes problems) and can drink from a cup or through a straw.
