mxjeff575 Added a reply to Next generation suspension?

I'm sure this is pretty far fetched, but in the future, with super accurate GPS, you could download a track map of suspension settings and it could adjust based on your GPS location. Program it to firm up while in the air over the big jump, soften up for the braking bumps into the next corner, etc.

The part that confuses me is it looks like he gives it throttle and dumps the clutch while pointing 90 degrees perpendicular to the racing line. Why would he do this, if it was actually just because he lost his rear brake. Seems like a strange cornering technique. Looked to me like he was in control enough he could have...

mxjeff575 Added a reply to How is K-Dub after last transfer?

x2. I can't get my mind around how doing these crazy, insane, do-or-die transfer jumps is not pushing his luck. Don't get me wrong, I love to see the skill and watch him do them, but I have often wondered why he is comfortable doing them.

mxjeff575 Added a reply to Reed update

I'm gonna guess it is just hairline cracks? I mean, seriously there's no way to blitz whoops with stuff floating around. The T1 thing would scare me ! Reed is mega tough...he's proved it many times in the past.

And it seems it would be so cheap to have a set off retro graphics made up. My local graphics guy makes custom graphics for me at basically the cost of just buying a set of FX, N-Style, etc. I just can't see it being a big expense for the teams to throw on some retro graphics for one race...

Glad to see it. 2010-2011-ish he was putting in some fast times in qualifying and the heats, but bad luck in the mains. 2012 and 2013 were marred by injuries. Hope he puts it all together this year.

I hope it is something that just some physical therapy/chiropractic can fix fairly quick. Was very bummed to see Eli get hurt after 2 whole straightaways.

mxjeff575 Added a reply to Jason ''Last Lap" Anderson does it again !

1/5/2014 9:44am
He ran it in hard, but Seely left the door open. And it looked like Anderson was not trying to take Seely out...he made contact but was trying to turn/go forward rather than taking Seely out. Seely got the short end of the stick with lappers...and i guess in hindsight, should have taken that corner tight. Great respect for both...

mxjeff575 Added a reply to Another Vince Friese Thread

Seems like what i recall from listening to some previous interviews with Friese, he says "yea i ride very aggressive, and if it happens back to me, well, i would expect that - I expect guys to ride aggressive at this level" (even though the other pros can pass without taking people out). THEN...when it does happen back to him...

So hoping it is just swelling around the spinal cord and he gets all or most of it back. Thanks for the update and wishing the absolute best for Dale.

mxjeff575 Added a reply to Bench Racing - 20/20 Vision and Champions

This is interesting. I have always just assumed that half those guys wear contacts. I had 20-20 vision all thru my teens. Now, at 42, I wear contacts. Honestly, seems the same, i have 20-20 vision with my contacts.

If you haven't yet, search on thumpertalk's health and fitness forum. Dr. Mark had some info on this. I wore CTI's for a long time, but finally went back to just pads. I can see how they can help prevent a hyper-extension, but I can't see how they can prevent twisting. The brace just rotates on your muscles. There is...

Any details on which arm / which bones? I'm assuming plated since he had surgery. Total bummer to hear. I was hoping to see him have another solid year.

mxjeff575 Added a reply to 6D helmets?

11/28/2013 7:25am
They are comfortable and feel fairly light. I just got one this summer. I wear a size L in Shoei and a size M in the 6D. Love the helmet...the more protection the better.
