It's easy to say that on your couch. You have to understand there was a fraction of a second from when that foot was taken off of the peg until contact was made. He is about 4' from BT at the point of impact with the toughblock, his corner plan was changed in a flash.....some riders are perfect but not all

I think Guy tries to protect the industry and riders on here and that is probably a wise move. I probably should not have put Timmy's name in the title and you calling him a idiot will get a edit most of the time

See its obvious at .06 that Alessi has no business trying a block pass. Look how far behind he is setting up the corner. BT has no idea what's coming.

Mototed I'm not saying it's right...just explaining. I know a few of mine have disappeared and I am like what did I say?

Honestly about 99% of my post should be clicked so Guy actually is showing a lot of patience with most of us

I cant buy that....Refer to Chad Reed's crash a few weeks ago and the fact that Ryan Dungey was in a much faster speed, uncontrollable situation (in the whoops) and still managed to avoid taking Chads head off when he fell right in front of where Dungey's tire should have been a half second later. Alessi knew what he was doing there...looked liked Bradshaw back in the day. The thing is..thats what made the sport interesting back then, wondering when Bradshaw or Chicken would take each other or someone else they didn't like out. The unfortunate part of all of this is that someone can get hurt and the careers ruined from acts like this, but 99% of you LOVE to see this kind of thing, whether its wrong or not.

The part that confuses me is it looks like he gives it throttle and dumps the clutch while pointing 90 degrees perpendicular to the racing line. Why would he do this, if it was actually just because he lost his rear brake. Seems like a strange cornering technique. Looked to me like he was in control enough he could have chosen to not do that. Confused.

The line selection into the corner leads me to believe that the rear brake isn't the main cause of this.

ah.. I see what they are talkin about, did not catch that before now.. However, not sure of the reason for pinning the throttle.. I guess he could say he was trying to corner but looked to me like he never tried to turn the bike... Interesting racing none the less...

watch the slo-mo and you can see he takes his foot off the peg and onto the brake until the last couple feet then pins it and dumps the clutch, total D-bag move

I like Matthes and Timmy but they may need an eye exam

As Mike collides with Tickle, his front tire is yanked right which forces his right elbow down (causing him to roll on the throttle), and his left hand is ripped off the bar (thus dumping the clutch). Still not a good decision to go in at that angle, but my opinion is he didn't attempt a 1/2 way ghost ride into Tickle.

As for Ricky, have a little more class than taking underhand cheap shots on TV. I would expect that from us keyboard guys/gals.

Was there this much of an uproar when Alessi took out Stewart? I mean, people were wishing he was dead on twitter last nite.

Doubt it.

I wonder why. Not really.

The fans of this sport are so transparent.

Thing is, he didn't take out Stewart! He almost did. Had he blasted James like he did Broc last night I'm sure the backlash would be the same, if not worse.

Can you not see a history of repeated bad judgment from the Alessi family in pro racing? That's what the shit storm is all about. Nothing else. I only ask because you seem to think this is about "something" else". It's not.

I dont have an agenda. Thats the point.

I take the incident for what it actually was. I didn't rush to judgement because I had an axe to grind with the Alessi's.

Much can't be said the same for most of the responses here last nite. They were pretty viscious considering they've never met or will never actually personally know Mike and his character.

It's as irrational as the love for RC. I swear, some here would let him deliver their baby if they could. But the fact is, y'all dont really know ANY of these guys yet u fall in love/hate based on the few moments of their lives u see them on TV. Judging by the moral codes/standards everyone pronounces here on the daily, i think its safe for me to say that if most here actually spent any time around their "hero's/villains" I think a lot of allegiances would be flipped on there heads.

Some of the most popular riders in this sport are the biggest dicks and some of the most hated are actually some of the nicest.

The foot came off the peg after he passed the tuff block......probably because he was setting up for the corner. All this " If and's and but's ".........still does not explain pinning the throttle wide open and dumping the clutch 2' before he makes contact!

I knew how to shut down a bike before plowing into some when I was a beginner rider way back in the day. I got a lot better as the years went on.....and when you're a Int-Pro rider........it's really not a hard thing to do.

No matter how many times I see that video....it is a 100% positive blatant take out move. There is no two ways about it.....no matter how many times we discuss it or anyone tries to debate it. It just happened!

Well I honestly believe it was a brain fart and he lost control. You can say anything u want about the Alessi family but one thing you cannot say is that Mike makes a habit of t-boning riders. Since the Tedesco incident....what, 7-8 years ago....How many riders has Mike knocked down?
Well it is hard to knock down when your a rolling chicane in sx. Laughing

So.....if he did indeed clip the tuf block and lose his footing, why did he not just dump the front wheel (i.e. lock the fron with brake and just crash) to avoid the collision which he KNEW was going to happen, did he think that using BT as a berm would save him? He did not even try ot turn, that had NOTHING to do with his foot, his arms and shoulders still worked didnt they?

About footgate... It was a right hand corner, his foot shouldn't have been on the peg anyways...

He's obviously setting up for a take out, and way too early to boot as nobody else was using that line. Did anyone else use that line all night? His foot is off the rear brake as it is in every right hand corner ,ready to dab and pivot. There ain't no magic bullet here people with these fancy theories about elbo this and throttle that....he's a clown trying to take somebody down that is faster than him.

Ferry and Matthes are high on glue on this one. There's no debate. Alessi is in the wrong plain and simple. It wasn't an accident
