Honda, good job. JGR good job. KTM, Kawi, Suzuki nothing. Did the factory teams fail or did Feld fail in getting them to do something. Kind of disappointing, every factory supported team should have done what Honda did.

I thought about that but why. 90% of the exposure they could get will be prior to the start of the races. Honda is winning.

Who said they were supposed to do anything?

The disappointment is caused by your own unfounded expectations. It's an anniversary. How does that imply that it is also "retro" night?

And it seems it would be so cheap to have a set off retro graphics made up. My local graphics guy makes custom graphics for me at basically the cost of just buying a set of FX, N-Style, etc. I just can't see it being a big expense for the teams to throw on some retro graphics for one race. Seems they are missing out on a great exposure/advertising opportunity.

Taste and colors. Personally I love it, that makes a good point in the retro thing, graphics replica are somehow too common.

I had to go look, you are correct. Feld has never used the word Retro Night for this years race although I believe they did in past years, however it has been used by most media the last couple of weeks. Supercross is a show and tonight will be a huge could have been.

It's because Honda and Yamaha lives in the past and KTM, Suzuki and Kawasaki is looking forward. Their glory days are long gone. Wink

No I agree, if you're going to have a night where you pay homage to the history of the sport, play along and get involved. Gives you a chance to do something different and turn some heads. I will concede that the word "retro" hasn't actually been officially used, but if you're going to build a replica track from over a decade ago, it's somewhat implied.

Me too, anyone can do retro graphics, but the red frame and fork boots are the extra touch that take that bike to a whole new level.

Wasn't the KTM white, red, and like this baby blue color back in the late 80's early 90's....somewhere around then?

I doubt Feld tells teams to "go crazy" for Vegas and pleeeenty of teams do it anyway. It's a piss poor excuse at best. To me it shows which teams/companies like to have fun in the sport and which ones are just dead set on the status quo. Those fork boots on the Honda are brilliant. It's so original and with the spirit of the night.

It's pretty sad that some of the teams don't even care enough to just throw on a set of graphics. Is that really too much to ask? IMO it looks pretty bad for the teams who don't do anything, seems like they don't really care about the fun stuff.

KTM - Red frames, dark blue seats, white plastics. Pretty plain bike's until 1989.

Suzuki, not much to do other than paint the frame maybe graphics

Kawasaki paint the frame, blue set , some graphics

Fox really let us down this gear. They are usually in the lead when it comes to different themes but the retro design they gave to Dungey this week is weak.

Suzuki, with 1 true 450 "factory" rider, and ZERO 250 riders is looking forward?

In the season pre-conference before Anaheim 1, if you watch the whole thing, they announce that Anaheim 2 would be a Retro race...

Do you guys want some cheese to go along with your whine?
Wow dude...speaking of cheese, that has to be one if the corniest cheesiest comebacks known to man. I dont see too many people whining, more like people just wanting to see some retro themed bikes on retro themed A2. Nostalgia is cool...

if the track resembled the Super Bowl of Motocross from 1972 or something from the Yamaha Super Series (precursor to AMA Supercross) I'd be inclined to agree with you.

but to me, the track is no different than any track of the last 15 years, maybe even 20, hell 25 years... So I don't see how the track is that special. There will be 14 more tracks this year that are essentially and fundamentally identical to this one.

either way, it's gonna be a good night for moto and I can't wait until it gets started.
