Steel City was my hometown track. Lots of great memories there. One unique memory that always sticks out in my mind was in 2002 -- but not the 2002 National though. The opening round of the local D5 Spring Series was the weekend of April 13-14. Also happening that weekend, about 400 miles away, was the Pontiac SX (RIP Silverdome). Pontiac was the finale of the 125 East season in 2002. In Pontiac, Branden Jesseman (hometown fan favorite) won his first-ever race in the 125 Main, which ended Chad Reed's undefeated season. I would be cool if you could just let it go. Race sportsman at Loretta's like the rest of us normal guys and when these guys show up somewhere like this enjoy the company of someone who is a world class talent. This guy was probably in the top 5 in the world from 98-2000 and it was super cool to watch him in his element even at 50 years old.

I think the classes are fine. Leave them as they are. I raced 45+ sportsman this year and got my ass kicked. I was in shape, but should have focused more on raw speed. Did a ton of 30 min motos and should have done more sprint laps. I raced a few local A class races in the 90's. Never scored pro points, but also moved out of the B class. I got my ass kicked at the ranch because I wasn't fast enough. I could go much faster with the right practice. Instead of Davey Coombs removing my competetion...

Chip Munn puts a ton back into the sport. Chip/ Big Dan/ The Really Big J are at countless races around North/South Texas and across the country throughout the year. They are amazing at trackside support. The whole crew are a bunch of great guys. Don’t kid yourself though, Munn Racing moves bikes. I drive past at least 3 other KTM shops to buy from them.

8/7/2023 4:21pm If Mike had a second bike, he could only use it for parts. You have to race the same frame for the entire week. My guess is he did have a spare bike but not enough time to do an engine swap.
