Pardon my iignorance but he doesn't have some kind of Triumph ride?

No. He’s just a trainer for triumph. His ride is from Munn racing.

So why did you try and make it look like a triumph?  Does Munn sell those?

Off subject, but when we go to visit our Daughter in Waco we drive by the Munn dealership off the 35 freeway (between Dallas and Waco).

Considering how many riders/teams he has supported over the years, I was shocked by how small the dealership actually looked from the outside..

I would have guessed it would be some massive motorcycle superstore dealership, pretty much just looks like any smaller town bike dealer.

He either really moves a lot of motorcycles PSF, or maybe just puts his $$ back into the sport?

Chip Munn puts a ton back into the sport. Chip/ Big Dan/ The Really Big J are at countless races around North/South Texas and across the country throughout the year. They are amazing at trackside support. The whole crew are a bunch of great guys. Don’t kid yourself though, Munn Racing moves bikes. I drive past at least 3 other KTM shops to buy from them.

Oh, I’m not pissed. I find it very funny actually. Quite the circus, Brownies antics are the highlight of LL’s for me.

Good luck in Moto 3

Just to clarify so I understand it;

He’s racing on the KTM so he can get contingency because Triumph either won’t pay him contingency or because KTM’s is better?

He could be riding a Hodaka for all I care, I just want to clarify why he isn’t on the Triumph 250. Seems like a missed marketing opportunity for Triumph imho.

Truthfully, who cares?  Brownie could win at Lorettas on that Maico someone dragged in behind the old VW........  which that entire setup looked pretty fucking cool to be honest.  If the man rolled up to the gate on an RM 465, sponsored by Sesame Street, who gives shit?  He'd probably still pull it off.......He gives my generation hope that we still have a purpose.

From what I can gather

He is sponsored by Munn KTM, which doesn’t sell triumphs

He works for Triumph, but isn’t paid to race their bikes

Triumph doesn’t have a 450, which he feels like he needs to win

So as a compromise, he is riding his sponsors bike (munn ktm) that’s got the graphics scheme of his employer (triumph)

Well considering he’s a past 125 champ I’m pretty sure he could get along pretty good on a “small bore”

I agree and think it’s weird that he raced a 350 or 450 . He should b on a KX125 pc bike or a Honda of Troy cr125.  Those 125,s would competitive on the small track.  50+ should hv a limit of 125 cc.  Emig to he,s on a big 4-st now.  Do these 2 think they couldn’t win or run in the top 5 on a 125 ? It would be a lot more exciting too watch.

Who is riding the older bikes this yr in 50+ ? The 50+  rider from tx. Always races a steel frame yz125 . I see he’s aprox 9th switching spots with our Wi. Rider that’s on a Husky 250 or 300 2-st. Last yr he finished 15th on a 125  or 150 . My 04 cr125 engine spec is the last cr125 to win a title there.  I,m sure I could b in the top few spots. But the race doesn’t pay cash so what’s the point.  If I can’t make 50k I ain,t racing it.

I bet vital would chip in 50k cash if you could podium that class on that cr125. Just think of all the miles you wouldn't have to truck if you did.

Black KTM you say?

Anyway... there's been some real good racing this year, love it.

As for the cherry picking, the man loves racing and he has to race somewhere, right? I've never been one to complain about him racing a class he's eligible for, he's doing nothing wrong, but you do have to wonder what he gets out of lining up knowing he's gonna win by a huge margin and lapping most of the field at an amateur race.

A lot of work to go beat some 9-5ers in a Tennessee goat field

It’s also a lot of fun. It’s motocross, it’s supposed to be a lot of work, that’s actually what makes it so fun

I know huh. Where’s an ex national pro supposed to race when he retires - should he just hang up his boots. Must be cool to have people call you a cherry picker when your racing the absolute fastest class that’s available to you. More power to Brownie and all the guys that are fast enough to share a track with him at that age  or even 10 yrs younger than him

Seems pretty clear he is not racing a Triumph because they did not provide him with a race bike. He is racing a KTM for Munn because they did. The fuckery started when he tried to make it look like he was.

How’s he racing the fastest class available to him? He’s not even racing the fastest vet class.

All this bitching about Brownie and he just got beat from Shorty in a photo finish.
Can we switch gears and throw some shade at Shorty now ? 😜

Vital would be pretty boring without the constant complaining. Keep it up boys
