I was with the FLVMX bunch racing vintage and modern so to get the show in by 4:30-5:00 the races were mostly 5 lap motos (10-12 mins). The classes went from peewee, vintage classes A and B, evo 1 thru 4 A and B, modern A thru C and women. When the economy was better there were usually 85-100+ riders...

I`m creeping up on 60 so it would have to be Modern "C". 20 minutes x2 + practice would be all that I could handle these days. The Lake City race was 10 min. motos and I really had to push it to finish where I did.

The last sand track I raced on was in Lake City about 18 months ago. Track prep was perfect and it was a total blast. Best track I`ve ever ridden.

Especially, if it`s a sand track.

If it were me I would contact Newmann about getting a new PVL. I think they have both analog and digital CDI`s for your Dad`s bike. I`ve had my share of elec. problems with vintage Yamaha`s over the years and probably would have saved a few bucks had I started using PVL`s sooner. It looks like the CDI Magneto Assembly...

One of my buddies in his 50`s races a lot of Cross Country and MX events on a 74` Husky and more times than not beats everyone on the track.
