Project Racer is the ignition Guru and what he says goes but, finding working ignition parts that last has always been a problem for me. Buy that PVL from Newmann and you can forget about ignition problems. Plus, he has the best prices in the World.

Use grade 40 for flexibility and 60 for ridgidness. Always worked for me.

I agree. My first big bores were early model 490`s and I never realized what turds they were until buying a 88` CR500. Best bike I ever had.

There`s a vet rider from Wesley Chapel, FL that races a 85 or 86 490 at Sunshine against the kids on modern bikes and finishes mostly top five in "B" class.

Don`t know his prognosis but he`s palling around with April Hodges so i`d say he`s making a pretty good recovery.
