Another great weekend for Ryan with a 12th overall, and sitting in 19th in points as a true privateer.

Just finished up the fastest and longest off-road race in America, Best In The Desert's Vegas to Reno! After 489 miles and 8 hours 3 minutes, we ended up 3rd OA averaging ~61mph, with top speeds going over 105mph for miles at a time. Check out some highlights from my 2nd stint, a 145 mile section from Mina, NV to Weeks, NV ~ My near crash just a few miles into my day leaving Millers, NV. The danger wasn't marked all that great and I hit the rain rut a little faster than I would have liked... [embed]...

MIPS seems like kind of laboratory cheat tech. The helmets are tested on smooth head forms (basically crash test dummy heads) with a single material layer on the outside. The MIPS slip planes are designed to slip around the inside of the helmet but don’t account for the fact that human heads have scalps and hair that allow a similar level of slip on those types of impacts. The MIPS tech score better in lab tests because it’s simply better at slipping on the head form than a normal helmet. This does not accurately replicate the interaction with a real...

His spelling and grammar are about what you'd expect for someone who routinely holds his breath for 3-4 minutes at a time.

For those of you looking for a ride report here ya go..... I rode a local, old school time keeping enduro yesterday. I had around half an hour of ride time on the bike before the race started, the only mods I did to it was change bars and put hand guards on it. The bike worked better than I expected, I think the suspension worked better than the WP stuff that was on my TE. The motor has more torque than any other 125 I have ridden, it will chug. I have a couple complaints about the bike though...

That is an awesome news! 8th months after the crash than put him in medical coma he was back racing today at Ernée for the French championship. He ended up 18th in R1 and 10 in R2 (battling Kjer Olsen and Vlaanderen) after a big crash in free practixe. Building up from there, he will miss Russian GP and will start MXGP in UK.

I went years ACL deficient and now years later I regret putting it off. I have since had it fixed but you can tell, it was a mistake not to get it taken care of when I first had the chance. At your age and being active as you are, I wouldn't contemplate not getting it fixed. Just my opinion. UPMC is great but the best of the best are in the Bone and Joint Center at Magee Womens hospital. https://www.upmc.com/locations/hospitals/magee/services/bone-and-joint-… All these guys are world renowned and in the UPMC system. Dr. Hamlin has done family members of mine...

My left knee has no ACL, no MCL, no meniscus and has been bone on bone for years. Without going into a bunch of details my advice is find a knee specialist and get it fixed. Do the time, do the rehab. Bummer deal but oh well. It might get "Not so bad" on it's own, but then you'll start favoring it and limping and then that will turn into hip problems and back problems and pretty soon you'll have more than just a fucked up knee, you'll have fucked hips and a fucked up back to go with it...

There is a ton of studies that indicate that a good estimate of your Maximum Heart Rate = 220 - your age. In your case MHR = 220-63 = 157. The training zones are based on percentages of the Max Heart Rate. Depending on what you are trying to achieve, be it fat loss, endurance, or an increase in your...
