lodewijk Added a reply to Clutch cover oil leak
11/26/2024 2:02am As above. If still leaking a bit of silicone gasket added will work fine as well. There is no pressure on it so should be easy enough to seal.

lodewijk Added a reply to WP Rear Suspension on new KTM Models
11/26/2024 1:10am Kicking is very rarely the result of a rebound setting, but most often packing of the rear due to soft compression. Adjusting the rebound to a slower setting will compound the problem. Can you check if increased fast- and slow compression helps? Leaving the rebound somewhere in the middle.

11/8/2024 1:58am Indeed sounds like the gear is not meshing properly with the idler gear when you go to kick it. Is everything assembled like the parts diagram below? Are you testing it with the crank cover installed? https://www.motorcyclespareparts.eu/en/kawasaki-parts/2005-kx250f-off-r…..

10/23/2024 1:18am Ok…dumb, dumb, DUMB, I am… Figured I’d start checking some electricals this morning. Upon removing the tank, fuel pump connector, and while removing the fuel line, the gasoline that leaked out of the fuel line, onto the top of the valve cover, was a nice gasoline/H2O mixture! 😳😂. While I had the tank off though, I checked connections and several other things while the tank was off and things seemed good. Reinstalled the tank, fresh gas, the engine runs good. Thank you to those who responded. It really is appreciated.

lodewijk Added a reply to Ktm clutch issue
10/23/2024 1:16am I don't have experience with that specific bike, but it doesn't sound unreasonable to have that happen especially with cold oil. If you adjust the clutch lever to where its comfortable for you and bled the clutch, there is not much else you can do. Most pro's will actually use the front brake during start and have the clutch grab...

10/18/2024 6:18am I believe that I had this one at the time: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256802252579740.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2u… But this was over 10 years ago. Nowadays I think you can just better order a connector cable like this https://www.m.ebay.nl/itm/144351862527 And use a cheap ELM OBD bluetooth connector and app on your phone with that. It will be more widely applicable and for less than 50$. But i...

10/18/2024 3:23am +1 on potential air leak, it could be you didn't properly seat carb boot when reinstalling. Forgot to connect the powervalve actuator? 🤐 Can't think of anything much else that could change when swapping between pistons. Break-in won't cause this

10/18/2024 3:11am The top of the old piston looks damaged, from debris or detonation, is the big end OK, do you have an air leak?

10/18/2024 3:10am Did you check the resistance on the rectifier? Tipover sensor ruled out? Crapped out sparkplug can also cause flameout after couple seconds once it gets to temperature. I would highly recommend getting one of those cheap OBD cable/readers for suzuki motorcycles, it lets you read the fault codes and basic sensors readouts and rule out a couple things. Fried ECU...

10/17/2024 6:00am If you can pull a vacuum on the reed cage with your mouth/other and the reeds seal, you're likely good, BUT if you do see fraying/chipping --- EVEN IF THEY ARE SEALING --- as @sandman768 says, replace them before they end up in your top end. I remember watching my Dad test parts of all kinds like this. Taste the oil, grease, stethoscopes to listen to running parts (for bearing issues, etc.) --- he was quite adept at engine development and parts assessment. He no like-y chipped or delaminating parts. 🤣

10/14/2024 11:32am I would just use them, will probably run fine. If it runs like dogshit you'll know the problem and can complain to dealer to trade em out.

10/14/2024 6:26am How poorly do the new reeds sit? Can you flip them over and see if it improves it? I wouldn't be concerned about a small gap, the crank pressure will seal them shut.

10/14/2024 1:00am +1 on the one piece mounts, they will mostly eliminate bar twisting. Many other OEM still run rubber cones and a solid mount

10/10/2024 2:28am Not chucking, definitely going to keep riding with it as I troubleshoot. I think I'll try the stock axle blocks to see if I can get the wheel more square. They're much more symmetrical than the Works Connection ones.

10/9/2024 5:59am Are you chucking them when they look like the picture? Cause that still has plenty of life on it imo. Just check when it's getting too close to the swingarm and replace it then. I wonder if chain slack has an effect at all here, as majority of wear on the top is going to occur when on the power...
