Retired teacher here, and my advise to today’s parents is begin homeschooling from fifth grade on. At this point in California I believe that there is zero constructive learning happening in the classroom beyond fourth grade.

The quality of homeschooling and public schooling alike is so insanely variable - from state to state, city to city, county to county - that it is absolutely impossible to decide, 100%, which is best. What I CAN say is that depriving your kid of a proper education and normal social life is a pretty shitty thing to do. There *are* excellent homeschool programs, but there are just as many that create functionally and socially illiterate incels, with brains pickled in wingnut propaganda.

My son and I have watched this countless times. He's 3 and loves Blippi and moto so you can imagine how happy he was when this came out.

I went to college and I even forgot some of that shit at this point. Props to him for agreeing to do that!

I'd say he's more on the ball than most kids in public school.

Proud of this kid! He's worked hard to get where he is and has a great future ahead.

He did good. I would still prefer public school because where else will you learn to fight for your whole life and dodging bullets?
