I was there, happened right in front of us. Here’s what I saw…. Kelly went off the track from the other lane and ended up on the backside of the finish line jump. The tower started waiving the Red Cross flag and hit the lights as he got back in the correct lane and going pretty quick. AMA guy stops waiving the Red Cross flag, but the lights kept flashing, before the little setup double before the finish, and on the tower. Crew is unaware the lights are still going. Brown and Jo are battling and come around the sweeper...

Brown definitely jumped on the red, they showed it on the post race show. How is it “still under review”.

There should be no controversy here. Pierce Brown made a pass FOR THE LEAD by jumping on the red light. We all saw it on video. He doesn't get the win, he doesn't get the points. Jo did the right thing and he better not be penalized for that.

I’m hoping that the AMA simply hasn’t released a decision yet… A decision that, if the rules are enforced correctly, will take some points/positions from Brown (and a fine/purse penalty I think when it’s in the main?) and Joe gets 1st. Honestly, I’m bummed that this happened…for both Jo and Pierce; but, rules are supposed to be enforced…especially those focused on rider safety. The AMA knows the lights were on. They also know riders jumped while the lights were on. They also know the rulebook but are refusing to enforce it, the question is WHY?

It’s not that hard, precedent has been set. Brown keeps the win, just loses points. Shouldnt affect betting, same guy is listed as the winner as last night. They had no problem last year penalizing multiple riders for a similar situation so really dont understand this ruling. All it’s going to do is cause more confusion in the future

Lewis is the only journalist who I feel like could adequately grill the decision makers on this. He needs to get all people who were involved in making this decision in front of a camera immediately and start asking questions. This is seriously insane that no penalties are being handed out. I like Pierce on a personal level and am happy for him, so this isn’t about my favorite rider not winning. It’s about consistency with the rules and fairness for all riders.

There's been a number of calls that ive seen over the years that aren't cut and dry, this situation couldn't be more clear. You dont jump on a red light, Pierce jumped on a red light... What the actual F is so hard to understand, the AMA just has to follow their rules. The rules that dont say, "Do not jump on a red light.. unless you know, you think it's ok".

Great way to encourage everyone to not follow the rules.

what the actual F*CK!!! Clear as fing day. Honda has had more red flag violations against them than any other team (I believe) and ate the penalties. Clearly this should benefit them, right fully so and then this?? I wonder if the betting has something to do with it, effecting payouts that already happened perhaps so not rocking that boat? So jumping on a red cross light is less of an infraction than failing post race sound check, even if it’s caught on video from multiple angles. Absolutely absurd.
