Sorry, i wasnt clear, its not that i dont believe you lol, just curious whether or not its a fact that they will most likely cancel or if its speculation based on the conditions. I'll be bummed if its canceled, but also understand there needs to be consideration of the logistics involved in being able to even build some semblance of a track.

It's going to be the "Oakland Oval" no jumps, sloppy mud, and a race where points count. All while the 1700 fans that show up are getting pissed on by heavy rain all night. Sounds amazing! Who in their right mind would want to miss that race?

I raced A1 05, SF 06, Daytona 08 and Oakland 23 might be the worst of all so I voted, yes...

Cancel it. This will end up f'ing the season up for a few title contenders guaranteed, who wants to watch a Supercross with guys just trying to stay up in first gear. Not to mention I'm not paying a good chunk of money to sit in the rain to watch a mud race. I guess I'm not as hardcore as you guys. Cancel it. Mother nature is gonna take the win on this one.

My money would be on Aaron Plessinger. Let's make it a GNCC race but indoors. Should be interesting to see what they build and what it looks come Saturday for fantasy players.

1/10/2023 7:54am I never said to cancel the race, just that it will be really hard for the true privateers, financially. You will see some chose not to ride because of the cost, and toll on the bike. In 1991 I qualified for the Hangtown national, I was 19 and paying for my own bikes, I decided not to line up for...

Having a mud race is one thing, having the entire damn place pretty much underwater is another. This is going to be an absolute shitfest for everyone involved.

1/10/2023 6:24am There is supposed to be a break in the weather Thursday but it is blowing and raining this morning, 100% chance of rain tomorrow, and heavy rain Friday, Saturday and into next week. Not a great situation for Dirtwurx, medical staff, riders, mechanics, and so on. This mud will completely wear out a bike, which isn't a huge deal for...

I generally agree with that statement. However, the 2006 San Francisco mudder was epic.

Just Add Sand….A LOT of SAND. It’s been done before and there are SO MANY Sand Quarries on the bay. Hell, one of the most popular Bay Area Motocross Tracks was a sand quarry: Sand Hill!

2nd in free practice 5th in first timed practice crashes hard in whoops in 2nd time practice. He stated he rode tight in the night program on a track that everyone claimed as being gnarly. You can’t win a championship or leave A1 with being able to claim it was a good year. However, you CAN certainly remove yourself from contention and ruin your year. Many did. He showed remarkable speed and will definitely be up front. The season is a marathon. Not a sprint.

1/8/2023 12:46pm Great job for our the hometown kid making the main at A1 in his first SX race. I've been watching him come up since he was on minibikes. I hope he can keep it rolling.

1/6/2023 10:25am Parking in Oakland is not safe. Over the years my friends have encountered many vehicle break ins, Motorhomes with purses, TV's, alcohol etc. Nothing like enjoying the SX to come out to a hundred smashed windows. I'm not exaggerating. You can take the BART train over from SF, its a quick ride, no parking headaches, and cheap$$
