Sounds like an air leak. The carb is probably not in the intake manifold completely.

Since the bladder is on the other side of the compression valve, isn't cavitation going to be pretty much impossible for BFRC? You could probably run way less pressure than a normal shock if you wanted.

Added reply in a thread purpose of the cut out in the side of 2 stroke piston 6/20/2019 8:26 PM

It's for extra crankcase compression. At least that's what the ads used to say. I wouldn't worry about it.

Have you experimented with different gearing on your Alta? I remember you posted a supercross video a while ago and I thought it looked like it might be better geared lower.

When ethanol separates the oil stays with the gas. Since the ethanol is heavier it sinks to the bottom of the tank and you wind up running on pure ethanol with no oil. It's not likely to separate as long as there is no water in the gas.

The only thing between you and a CR500 with a stuck throttle is a $65 chinese Keihin knockoff? You like to live dangerously! I salute your cheapness sir!

My 2013 150sx was having similar problems revving out. I fooled around with jetting and reeds trying to fix it but it turned out it just needed a new top end. The old piston didn't look very worn at all.

You want one turn of preload on the exhaust valve spring. You should definitely clean the exhaust valve on that bike. When it gets sticky it loses a lot of responsiveness.

The missing bolt and washer just keeps the shaft from sliding out. It doesn't affect the rotation. All you need is a short bolt and a washer big enough to overlap the other part.

Looks like you're missing the screw and washer that keeps that shaft from sliding into the cover.

Me? I've just been living with it until I replace the piston. Once I get around to that I'll chase the jetting some more.

Here's the fender of my 92 rm. If there was ever an "unleaded fuel only" sticker on the tank it's long gone now.

I tried the 2014 cage today but didn't get any improvement. I'm about due for a fresh top end so I guess I'll do that before anything else.

When I first got the bike I had to go richer just to keep it from knocking. Now it's developed this wide open sputter so I was trying leaner main jets without much success. Fluttering reeds definitely sounds like a possibility. Although it's hard to ... more »

Thanks for posting that. I'm having the same problem on my 2013 150sx. Does the rad valve give up any power compared with the vforce?

Added reply in a thread tony stewart 8/11/2014 8:53 PM

If the sound was coming from Stewart's car it wouldn't have perfect timing. It was hundreds of feet away so there would have been around a half second delay before the sound reached the camera.

Awesome job on the track Barrington. Watching the GoPros it feels like I've already ridden it.

Thanks guys. I have to give a lot of credit to Dirt Wurx for the excellent maps. When they haven't made any intentional changes those track maps are very accurate.

The map that was posted in my forum (mxsimulator.com) is the 2009 track. The 2011 track is supposed to have an unusual start that starts on the pavement and goes across the infield grass. Not sure if they're actually going to start on pavement (!) or ... more »
