My favorite part is how Deegan went up on the bottom & barked about how he had Jett on the ropes & was catching him everywhere else too & then got absolutely ass packed 2nd moto by 31 seconds. After watching the race, here is how I analyse it : Jett, Hunter, Haiden and Lucas in the background puts a fast pace early on. Haiden (and Hunter as well) seems to have more speed than Jett. Track is still fast, ruts are not so deep. You can put your bike into a rut and go wide open. Deegan throwing everything he got to pass the boys. There is an ego battle here, I don't see a lot of strategy (unlike Jett vs Hunter at Hangtown moto 2). Haiden using those power lines, stays very close to Jett, almost passes...
