My point is not to do with the decisions of the French military and political leaders. It's just pointing out that surrender does not indicate cowardice from the average French soldier. At any rate if you knew anything about history and especially military history you'd know that military defeat oftentimes has little to do with cowardice. Also, your stupid comments...

I generally like and respect Chase but it really pisses me off when any athlete who gets paid millions of dollars to to play or compete in a sport feels like they are making some kind of huge sacrifice or providing some sort of service to the fans beyond entertainment. No, Chase, you and your fellow competitors are not “giving your lives” for this sport. You are getting paid millions of dollars to play a game, work out, travel the world, be semi-famous, retire before 30 of you so choose, and have the rest of your life to live with...

This view is pretty fucked. The French lost 125,000 men killed during the early stages of the German invasion of France in WW2. The reason for France's surrender was not to do with the cowardice of the troops but the terrible strategy and organisation of the army leadership.
