12/2/2015 5:06am Just giving you shit Craig. See you this weekend.
HackMan162 Added a reply to 2015 YZ-250 Reeds
12/1/2015 9:29pm I have run the VForce 3, Boyesen and stock. For me, the stock was fine. I did like the Boyesen, without the reed spacer. But you can try the stock without the spacer too. I'd say save your $$. When the stock reeds wear out, then revisit this, since replacement reeds are $60-ish and you can get either of these...

12/1/2015 9:26pm Craig, I've already told you.... Get a DEP and a PC 304 (non-shorty) and live happily ever after. Or run the stock pipe with the FMF shorty. The gnarly with the shorty is all bottom end bark. It will hit real hard down low, but not rev out.
HackMan162 Added a reply to YZ 250 Revvs out fast, goes flat on top end
11/21/2015 7:40am I always ran yamalube 2r at 40:1 in my YZ250s. Never had a lubrication failure. In my experiences, 100LL is difficult to get spot on with jetting. A switch to VP 110, or premixed T2 makes it easier, at a cost $$$. I didn't care for the Vforce on my YZs. I ran stock or Boyesen. Other guys like them...

11/19/2015 11:05am What size bike are you riding? If you are on a 250, that 1+ lbs of rotating unsprung weight is a lot.

11/18/2015 3:17pm I don't think that rust on your pipe would be Digger approved!
HackMan162 Added a reply to powder coating ?
11/13/2015 7:51pm Yeah, good point. I have just heard horror stories about powder coated frames being 5 lbs heavier than painted ones. I think it might just be an MXA-ism.

11/13/2015 10:04am I am thinking (possibly wrong) that PC would add significant weight to the rim, which is rotating, unsprung weight. (bad). Have you guys weighed a rim before/after PC? ANodize shouldnt have much effect.

11/10/2015 6:24pm With Bulldog spokes and new rims, no problem whatsoever.

11/10/2015 6:19pm Tear it down to the frame and rebuild it...greasing, and checking torque on every fastener.
HackMan162 Added a reply to Austin / San Antonio TX riding options.
11/9/2015 1:54pm For trails/free riding, there is Emma Long Park in Austin (or whatever its called). But its mostly trials guys. There are trails at Murphys, so I have been told, and lots of private ranches that are open to various clubs. Del Valle has been really good the last year or so on Wednsdays when they dig it deep. Weekend mornings...

11/5/2015 3:24pm I'd go steely after owning numerous steel and alu framed YZs. But, ONLY if you can find a low hour steely, since those frames wore out pretty quickly compared to the alu. The frame weight difference is a little over 3 lbs though, so you will want to throw some cubic dollars into a weight loss program to create the...

11/5/2015 3:20pm Pastrana is like 6'3", Partridge is at least 6'4" (I think), DeDyker is a power forward. None of these guys differed radically on bike setups. Lowered pegs, taller seats and bars. I am 6'4", I run Fastway lowered pegs, SDG tall seat, and Henry/Reed bend bars. Every now and then I play around with 5-10mm spacers to raise the bars...

11/5/2015 3:15pm Chad will be on a blue bike. Factory Yamaha under either Yamaha tent or JGR tent. Stamp it. Discount Tire is gone because he hated the Pirelli tires, and that was part of the deal, or as a previous dude said, it conflicts with JGR.

11/3/2015 11:10am If the RM-Z450 lost 4-5 lbs, gained 2 HP, a 270mm front rotor and re-styled their graphics, the magazine guys would all be jizzing their jeans about how great the bike is. The fact is, other than being a bit overweight, the bike is not that far off right now. I just hope they dont buy into the whole "mass...

10/30/2015 4:21pm Their quality is second to none. That's why all the race teams use them. Pricing starts at around $800 a set for their value line, and goes up from there for the A60/Talon Carbons

10/24/2015 9:33am I am wanting to do a dull matte bronze on all of it. What's your opinion? Will it look pretty good? Can you PM me a price?

10/24/2015 8:35am Does aluminum come out the same as magnesium? My clutch cover and ignition cover are mag, but hubs and triple clamps are aluminum. Wondering if the look would be close.

10/23/2015 7:40pm I've got a clutch cover, ignition cover and a hub I'd like to give it a go on. I'm in Austin, so not too far.
