GuyB Liked a forum topic Brian Moreau Tuesday Night Update

2/19/2020 10:24am
LeBig provided this update from Brian's dad for us after translating from French. Merci, LeBig. “I would like to thank you all for caring for Brian. First of all, I’d like to say that Mathilde Musquin has been amazing through those very tough times. She’s managing the situation with great care. She is a guardian angel for Brian. Marvin is very worried about Brian as well. He went to see him and supports him too. In addition, Troy Lee Designs, KTM, and RedBull have also been very supportive. Tyler, [Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM] Team Manager, is with Brian all the...

mx317 Liked a forum topic Evel Knievel

I went to Colorado last week for a little dual sporting and watching the National Motocross at Thunder Valley. On the way home I saw a billboard that said "Evel Knievel Museum" in Topeka Kansas. I had to see it! I goggled the location info and found it. It was one of the highlights of that trip! They have a bike you "ride" with virtual goggles and you do a recreation the jump in England. It was awesome! I'll share a few photos, but if you ever get the chance GO! ...

HARLEY DAVIDSON SPEAKS TO "DECLINING BIKE SALES”,BLAMING MILLENIALS. The reasons for the slump in sales at HD are not President Trump's fault, or Harley Davidson's. Apparently the Baby-Boomers all have motorcycles. Generation X is only buying a few, and the next generation isn't buying any at all. A recent study was done to find out why Millennials don't ride motorcycles: 1. Pants won't pull up far enough for them to straddle the seat. 2. Can't get their phone to their ear with a helmet on. 3. Can't use 2 hands to eat while driving. 4. They don't get a trophy...

Texas Built Liked a reply to forum topic Old guy wants to get back on the track, two stroke or four

4/29/2019 8:54am
See if you can ride a 4 stroke before you buy one. I had ridden 2 strokes my whole life and finally bought a KX250F last year without ever riding one before. Big mistake. It started easy, fuel injection, and I liked that you just put pump gas in it and go. But it was just heavy and not fun. Reminded me of my old XR400 but more power. 2 stroke way more fun.

dlhamblin Added a reply to Moto is on the Decline?

I admit I didn't read all 11 pages of replies; but I would tend to agree its declining, as are street bike riders. I have seen people bash the industry as to its their fault, but I truly think the younger generation(s) (I am 59) don't have the interest in the real thing. I've watched my sons (who both like...
Same with Sport Rider that ceased last year. I now suddenly am getting Motorcyclist. It ended up in trash, weird format and hard to read/follow. Its a shame on Dirt Rider, I likes the Jimmy Lewis/Karel Kramer years! Hasn't been the same last few years so not surprised.

dlhamblin Added a reply to So, Why does Reed dislike Barcia?

2/13/2013 11:26am
To me yes, but others have to form your own opinion. I will agree its not a bar slapping swap but I don't think he was incontrol from the first whoop on. As he enters the first whoop he looks off balance and it shots him to the left; he tries to counter back and gets even more squirrely. To...

Have you tried New Vienna near Wilmington Oh? Mike is working hard to make the place a much better facility. Last year he really put effort into makeing the tracks as good prep wise as weather allows.

Sometimes what looks like an easy hit does a lot of damage while riders jump right up from what looks like every bone should be broke type crashes. Hope he makes a full recovery.

I think Chad did what he said. He left with three moto's under his belt and healthy (unlike RV) and now has some Australian SX's to help sharpen up. I think by A1 he will be ready to contest for wins.

dlhamblin Added a reply to rear wheel wobble

9/19/2012 12:35pm
Couple things: -Could be a bent rim -Is the axle nut properly torqued (I had a freind with a KX250 complaining of a wobbly wheel and I reached down and the axle nut was only hand tight, torqued it properly and no more wobble -If you grab the wheel and rock it side to side, do you feel play in...

I'd ride that bike (track maybe not, a bit beyond my level at 53 years old...)
