3/19/2019 6:34am Ralph's job got a lot tougher. They need to stop the bleeding and bring back Emig ASAP. The Indy broadcast was the worst yet and that is saying something.

12/28/2018 12:15pm So long, my friend. We lost GORDY OCHS yesterday. A fierce motocrosser, good man, who had beat cancer and had a heart transplant, and all of that is BEFORE the picture here of him skying over the table at Spokane!!! I lined up next to him, on my Montesa, and thought I'll take it easy on the old man... After...

12/25/2018 8:50pm I've had both models of 400 (plus a 76). They are pretty similar sharing most engine internals. The 78/79 has slimmer cases, came stock with electronic ignition and has the cs sprocket in closer proximity to the swingarm pivot eliminating chain tensioner hassles. 78/79 also came with an up pipe vs the downpipe on the 77. The rear of the 78/79 might have had a little more travel than the 77 but I think the forks were the same. Ergo wise the 77 still feels like an 'old school' Maico with the coffin tank and older style seat. The 78/79...

12/8/2018 6:02pm Christopher Siege James: 8 hrs · ... I put Nobby on the front page. We lost him to cancer a few days ago. To illustrate the sort of man Nobby was: best friend Jim Conway had just started racing vintage in 2000. His '79 CR125 refused to rev out & run right, and Nobby (whom he did not know) said...

10/13/2018 11:07am Well this one has never been apart, at least not by me. When I removed the cover the nut and fly wheel where lose and key sheared. Once I installed a new key and torqued it back in place, it fired right up. The bike hadn’t been risen in years and ran perfect when parked.

8/20/2018 1:44pm Good to see this old thread revived. Some observations on some of the comments: While trying to perfectly match the colors on these bikes is a nice endeavor, it isn't necessary. When these bikes were brand new sitting on the Honda showroom floor, the plastic, frames and engines were all slightly different colors. Honda has never put a lot of effort in quality control for the paint on their dirt bikes. In 1979, your CR250 might be made in Japan or it might have been made in Marysville, OH. I remember seeing bikes from both plants side by side and...
