This is a good point... I don't think it was as much how the bike needed to be ridden versus it was actually their riding style. And coincidentally it matched the Kawi's handling traits. Which also somewhat supports my take on Prado which was that he's not a very adaptable rider and couldn't adjust to what the Kawi does. But the KTM simply fits his riding style... As bad as he's ever looked in a race where he didn't crash. Start was good enough and got dropped by guys who in past years have had nothing for him. Tomac crushing it, prado exceeding expectations, Anderson doing fine, marchbanks has been a disaster..... Plenty of evidence to indicate the bike is at least part of the problem. Combine that with sexton always searching for some feeling that doesn't even exist on a good bike..... definitely panic button time but not sure what good it's going to do.

In my opinion, an SMX title isn't nearly as prestigious as a US Motocross National, US Supercross, or MXGP title. My biggest problem with it is 90% of the outcome is based on a single race. After qualifying for the "playoffs" (they're not playoffs by any definition of the word), someone could theoretically win the championship by winning the 3rd round and skipping the first two. Racing is racing and I enjoy watching SMX, but it's basically a sideshow and I wish the purse were re-allocated to the Nationals and Supercross.
