It's insane that even industry people and media people struggle to grasp that. I listened to some podcasts and pretty much everyone is just pointing out that Prado has gotten good starts so they don't get the issue. But i guess it's just because this sport is technically so far off something like MotoGP and WSBK. In road racing journalists actually understand nuances and the technical parts of the racing so much better, and they are willing to understand and study it. In our sport 95% of the media people are much more interested to talk in general terms and...

It seems most are missing a very fundamental point in this argument. Prado rides low rpm, like VERY low. That requires an engine with very different characteristics. Kawi haven’t had someone who ride’s like that in at least the past two decades, so how are they expected to have a suitable setup? Especially considering that the current generation motor is no torque monster and likes to be revved. Think about how Ando, as well as Tomac prior to him, ride- aggressive on the throttle. Prado is the complete opposite. It should be no surprise that it’s taken Kawi and Prado...

After hearing plenty of comments from the other riders, and from Hunter and Reedy today, it seems the only people who don’t understand Prado’s struggles, are some moto media and clowns in here. I expect there’ll continue to be ups and downs for awhile, but I have no doubt he’ll get there.

Prado's current performance has little to do with MXGP. He wouldn't be competitive in MXGP in his current form either. It's no secret that he struggles when he's not comfortable; but when he is, he can beat anyone. At his best, he's probably the strongest contender in the world to challenge Jett for a championship over a full season.

I’d love to see him running up front. With that said, every rider and non-TV commentator (TV guys seem to sell Southwick as a European track) say that the sand at Southwick is nothing like European sand. Southwick has a very hard slick base once the top layer of sand pushes around as the track develops. I’ve never ridden in Europe or Southwick, just a super fan who spends my weekdays listening to moto stuff rather then the news 🤷‍♂️.

It still baffles me that he looked better on the bike during SX than what he does now.

Interesting that the experts seem to be split. On the AC and JB podcast they seemed to put the entire blame on Prado. AC said the team is essentially perfect and will do whatever you want. JT and BT (Townley) seemed to put a majority of the blame on Kawasaki. I will say they had more relevant anecdotes to support their position. JT has seen Prado more than anyone in the US. I'd take his position the most serious.

when the camera was following him last week it honestly looked like a mid 20's privateer riding around, not a factory multi-time champ. something is clearly wrong, it's not like dude forgot how to ride fast.

There are riders you can pick out by their style, no matter what they are wearimg and what they are riding, Prado is one of those guys, he looks like a pig on stilts on the Kawasaki/ Only guy who looks worse on the Kawasaki was Seewer. Nobody has got on the green bike and gone better on it, either side of the Atlantic, in the last 5 years, maybe even longer.
