Built a bunch 125s with my dad when i was his age, wouldn't trade those times for anything. As for what to model them after do what u feel like is cool. I love the PC bikes but you may have a different taste. The oem look is kinda plain but looks good too. The chevy trucks kits never struck me as super cool but if u like it that could be neat. The whole gold on green kinda thing is funky but has grown on me. Honestly kiddo could want to put a restyle kit on it with monster...

Here is what I found...The numbers in paint on the motor and on the FIM inspection sticker on the head tube match Paul Edmonson's from the OK ISDE. The former owner (long time GG dealer and former ISDE competitor) told me it was Paul's bike from the ISDE. It is in excellent condition so no build thread needed. Except maybe to remove the Sparky from the carbon silencer!

Swingarms and linkage. What a silly amount of work. I have been working on these for at least a month. Typical approach I use for these… I did have to remove some broken screws for the rub pad retainers. 1. Check out all bearings and remove roller bearings where I can. I’m not removing races if the bearings can be cleaned up. Remove those bearings and races where needed. Heat was the key here. Applying it directly to the bearing and outside area where it sits. This allowed me to bang them out with a appropriate socket. 2. Clean up...

Pretty happy with how these came out. It's really making me want a red seat and a white tank. Maybe down the road. Next up is riding it and then throwing money at suspension. I wasn't able to get a Pantone swatch book before I sent the graphics off to print, but I did get one after. So those of you with the UFO plastics like I ordered, go with the swatch color in the pic below as your base color. It was the closest match in the book. Rebuilding. Did not shoot a bunch of images or should I say any images of the misery I endured rebuilding these shocks. Why greater misery this time? Heck I have done 5-6 other ones before these. The main difference was trying to minimize air and incorporate adding air 7.1 pounds to the bladder while topping off. The striking of the clevis a few times to force air out of the body was also added. I can’t overstate the value of twisting the clevis from one side to the other while pushing the shaft up. Doing so many I became lazy...

Sadly no real updates besides bars graphics and seat cover. Been occupied working on road race stuff. Carb has been sent through sonic cleaner and rebuilt. Need to rip the wheels and finish cleaning the engine. 02 and 99 carbs.

Small update. Frame and subframe back from getting powdercoated. New bearings in swingarm, linkage, and steering head. Triple clamps cleaned up with Titanium tapered socket cap bolts added. Forks rebuilt. Shock you see is from an enduro model, I have not rebuilt the shock for this bike yet. Wheels have yet to be touched. Just wanted to see it rolling. OEM graphics and seat cover should be here soon. The seat needs new foam, which won't be hard to source has it shares that with the 94-98 KX125/250.

Not really a full-build, just a fun "replica" that actually gets ridden. 2006 YZ125. SKDA did the graphics for me, had them in my hand from Australia to California in less than a week from the first email. You cannot go wrong with those guys.
