I feel like some of the best ever in their specific mastery, Ricky Carmichael, Juha Salminen, Travis Pastrana with proper focus and training could have mastered any of the above. Ricky and Juha for their training and discipline alone. Juha made the GNCC pros look like they were standing still when he won the series on his first try. 8x...

Ty Davis is probably the best candidate for all around. Most don't remember that his 125 SX Championship came from beating the "King", Jeremy McGrath. How many riders can say that? Once he went off-road, he was a beast. Shane Watts is a close second. He was a brilliant racer and amazing on a 125.

12 year old me was super stoked to score this 1983 Honda CR60. I grew up riding Hondas, and the early-mid 80’s are still some of my favorite bikes. The air cooled engine / Pro-Link suspension combination is a unique identifier to this era of bikes, and mimics the full - size CR 480. I read somewhere that the early 60cc bikes have a similar power to weight ratio as Open class bikes. After dumping in some fresh VP pre-mix, and taking a few laps around the local pit bike / practice track, I can certainly confirm that the powerband...

Those 00s Gasgas 125's have great ergonomics and hydro clutch. I remember finding a mint 02 XC for $1200 for my cousin. He loved that bike. Should have kept it. Agreed, I always wondered what a 36 bored to 37mm would be like.

Love it, looks clean, clean, clean! It is freezing up here, so I'm stalled out a bit. Need to get a heater for the garage.

Finally bought some new side panels and a front fender (2012+ style). Waiting to get the correct spokes to lace up the rear wheel but for now rolling around on my spare beta wheel. Opted to not go with the OEM style of applying the Ohlins fork decals which is facing forwards and both decals having the O at the bottom. Cleaned up the brake line that was on the bike. Sonic Cleaner, Took scotch bright pad to the fittings, and used heat wrap on the sleeve.

Finally ordered wheel parts. Was really fighting if I wanted to get the stock rims re-ando'd blue or source some new blue excels BUT found a new Excel rear rim with new TM spokes/nipples off marketplace (excel's will go on the 1999) and a set of black Pro Wheel rims for this 2002 paired with spokes from CC (cross-center.com). The front all finished up with the hub polished, new bearings (same as honda CR/CRF), brake disk/carrier refurbed, and titanium rotor bolts. Sadly, the rear spokes are not correct; currently worthing with CC to figure what's not right. When the time...

KTM front caliper bracket is a no go. Need one that's 102mm spacing. Search continues. Got some Pirelli's mounted. Front wheel is for the 2002, did not buy an excel for this 99 yet.
