2thefront Added a reply to Even if James didnt crash..

Obviously James is not the fastest guy out there right now and maybe that's in his head a little. I assure you he has not reached the potential yet with that team though. He is not comfortable yet. Villopoto is peaking right now. He's in shape and as healthy as you can be in MX, he's been on the same...

Well Davi did go back to the "regular" forks that they ran all offseason. It was a bit puzzling to me that JGR went with the new fork to start the season after not having more than a week or two of testing on it, not to mention it's a good bit lighter and I'm not sure how much lighter...

Yes, I'm sure tires weren't as good as they wanted, but it wasn't THE problem. It wasn't like they threw a dunlop on there and it cured what was ailing them.

If you listen to the pulpmx show from this week, Jbone said the tires weren't the problem, it was setup from getting the parts late. The tire change just came about from trying to eliminate a variable and JS7 said they were pretty much the same feel so they went back to Pirelli.

Correct. Their Cup, Nationwide and MX teams are all in separate buildings, although all the machine work is done in the Cup shop.

2thefront Started a new thread FMF and Energy Drinks

I noticed that JGRMX has taken the FMF logos off the bike following Kawi's lead. Has FMF created a conflict of interest by putting out an energy drink? Almost every MX team has an energy drink main sponsor. What good is it for them to cause teams to take the logos off their bike?

Anyone else's broadcast not in HD? If they're gonna make me wait til the next day to see it and cut out half the racing, it'd be nice to at least watch it in modern form.

Because they're getting a LOT of attention from them. There's too many smart people at Pirelli for them not to be able to be at the very very least on par with Dunlop. JS will get tires built exactly to his liking perfectly suited for just that bike.

It's not the contract. Pirelli is still the best option long term. Eventually they'll figure it out and JS will have tires made exclusively for him that no one else will be able to get. That's the advantage they're looking for and will find.

JBone said before the start of the season they are not worried about contracts or having to promote a product. They will breach a contract if it means getting the best part possible on the bike.

He will be fine. I think everyone was caught a little off guard by the track. They don't have the bike 100% where they want it yet and he missed the start. He knew Villopoto was gone at that point. I think he was willing to settle for 4th until Reed and Dungey went down. He made just as small...

Gonna be a good year...bubba will be fine. Didn't get the start tonight. 3 of the fast 4 made mistakes. We'll see how RV does when he doesn't get the good start. There's very little room to give up time in the top 4. The track was pretty weird and didn't provide a lot of opportunities to put in good...

I think he's one of the guys that could pull an "upset" if the conditions were right. He was pretty much the fastest guy out of the non fast 5 guys in SX.

2thefront Added a reply to Is JGR going to be the same?

They're still going to be different. The whole "rider trains and lives in NC" bit was based on the rider being unproven. It gave the rider structure that he didn't have otherwise. Bringing in a guy that has a proven record makes that rule pointless. I don't see them strapping on GYTR stuff. Their whole original idea was being like...
