James biggest problem is he's not the smartest rider around, smart riders know how to setup a bike and make good decisions most of the time. Do you guys seriously think he will do well in NASCAR if he doesn't know what changes are needed on the car to dial it in, setup is far more important when it comes to car racing.

James can't race like he's back in his 125 days where setup did not matter much because he was blowing everyone away even when he crashed.

Can someone show me proof this season of James specifically saying his bike is the problem? I remember him saying his bike isn't 100% yet, on one of the podiums, but he hasn't come out and said that HIS bike isn't allowing him to win.

Everyone can see that James is struggling, and James has admitted he is struggling. I think half of us behind the keyboards blow the bike excuses out of proportion when I haven't heard James make the same excuses.

Exactly. Dungey doesn't have his bike completely dialed yet either. So what does he do? He rides within the bike's limitations and takes a 3rd place finish, and is only 10 points back of the points lead. Stewart on the other hand goes balls to the walls and crashes. He said his bike was actually set up perfect in San Diego and not to change anything. So that excuse should be gone now, but it won't be.

I think James is just a clumsy rider who suffers from concentration lapse. I dont think he is entirely focused through turns which causes him to fall? Maybe hes looking too far ahead. I suffer fom the same bulshit, i have stupid crashes in the easiest of corners, and when i dont crash i usually win or atleast podium.

Madonna is 53 and if you say DV was pre-madonna then how old the fuck is he. That has to be some kind of record to win in such old age.
I was preparing to compose a response to the Pre-Madonna comment. Yours is fkn perfect.

Whatever jgr is doing with the bike it is working for Davi,is it possible JS7 is not as good as he was before? No doubt he can still haul the mail, possibly the pressure or his conditioning affecting his results. He is a great racer and one of the elite, but it is probably unfair to expect him to be perfect at this time in his career.

Well Davi did go back to the "regular" forks that they ran all offseason. It was a bit puzzling to me that JGR went with the new fork to start the season after not having more than a week or two of testing on it, not to mention it's a good bit lighter and I'm not sure how much lighter you really want the front end to be on the yzf.

That said, I think the speed is still there for James. He just isn't comfortable enough on the bike yet to race Reed and Villopoto every week and it's obvious. Remember, they're both running on the same team and an evolved bike from last year. James didn't really race the bike in '10 and struggled with it in '11 and is on a new team this year. I think they'll get the bike as good as possible by the end of the year but he's not running for a championship. Matching last year's win total will be a huge win for the team and I think they would've agreed going into the year.

Also, more than likely if he doesn't have bad luck by getting stuck and having to cut part of his pants off, he's on the podium last week. The race for him wasn't THAT bad.

Maybe if he hadn't cartwheeled in the whoops after hitting tuffblocks, he possibly could have been on the podium.

Some people seem to forget how James literally blew past Dungey on one lap and Metcalfe on another through the whoops. His bike was practically arrow straight on those laps. RV and CR would swap on occasion through those whoops too and that is what eventually brought down KW.

Even DV12 stated that it isn't the bike itself, it's his setup. It seemed to me most of the top guys struggled through those whoops at least several times during the main event.

He was also going right up against the tuffblocks on the left - if anything went wrong, he was going off the track. And something went wrong, he went off the track, and that was that. It was a calculated decision that didn't work out.

DV knows the deal - it's his setup. Snappy engine plus stiff suspension equals poor traction on hard, slick dirt.
bingo...did you see reed and rv doing that and then when they got too close for comfort they switched lines down the whoops?

Bobby, I have to admit that I was one of those people that thought this. I still think that with JGRs money and connections they should have one of the best bikes out there.

From what it seems to me he doesn't care as long as the checks are clearing.
