Fred Andrews had a pretty good career in the late 80's, early 90's, and I can not recall any big AMA wins. He was national #17 at his peak if I remember correctly.

After his MX days he did win big at the GNCC's for a few years.

Jim Holley as well. I do not remember any big AMA wins but another great carreer. Holleywood was a legend however on the international scene and raced all over the world. National #10 at his peak, I believe.

Current guys: Brett Metcalfe and Ryan Morias have been close so many times but that first win is still eluding them.

Cooper never won in the 250 class in SX or MX but won 125 nationals between 87 and 1991 including the 1990 125 national MX title.

Cooper actually won the German SX title in like 94 if I remember correctly

I know he won a little bit in the 1980's, but Ron Lechien could have really been something else if he would've put his head down.
Still to this day he is one of my favorites though. I loved watching him ride.

I don't really think 125/lites SX should count in something like this because only half the guys are racing that championship. On that note I go with Windham.

What about Ezra Lusk? He won races, but never a title in the big boys class.

Although he's won races (both big and small bore) and titles in the small bore class, Windham could be one of the best that never got a big bore title.
