Yes you don't know what you are talking about here. Lucas current state has zero to do with his US race.

If the teams want developmental classes to evaluate talent more reliably, that's fine, but no TV coverage and no championship titles. If you want to be on TV, then turn pro. A line has to be drawn somewhere.

No TV?  I like watching the SMX Next kids and that is part of the preparation to being in the pro class.  No "near factory bikes"?  What does that actually mean?  The 250 class has rules in place already for that purpose, but the bikes are still wildly different.  If you have the cash, you can buy damn near a full PC race bike......but you still have to ride it.

If they're getting equal TV time and press, the teams WILL load up the class with fire power (GP & National winner Sacha Coenen racing it is what started this thread after all). Like I said before, this is exactly what happened with 125SX. It may not seem like a big deal on its own but between 450, 250E, & 250W the very top talent is already split up too many ways. Adding another class is a step in the wrong direction, imo.

I'm OK with this for the safety of Sacha, but not having high hopes for him with his die trying approach. Is going to end badly.

They don't get anywhere near equal TV time and it's only at a few rounds.

Lol bud, been to more MXGP's in person than you've taken a dump in your life but besides that, lets deal with facts, what was his championship position before Southwick? What happened at Southwick? What happened at Great Britain (the race after Southwick) MR "MXGP"?

Here i'll help, you say, "He got crashed into by Renaux, thats what injured him and he also hit a fence" - and with that all the retards in this thread jump for joy. Except for Mr Goon over here, looking at PRACTICE LAP TIMES WHICH TOOK PLACE BEFORE HIS CRASH WITH RENAUX. Please Mighty MXGP Guru, explain it to me, 1 lap was all he had, slowest of the lot. The incident you clowns gobble down as the "real reason" has not taken place yet. Those facts wont change.

And if you want to tell me he doesnt care about practice, go pull up previous practice sessions yourself of GP's (pre Southwick) and see where he usually sits in those sessions.  "tell us you dont watch MXGP..." man SYBAU🤣🤡

Given this kid's well-earned reputation for yard sailing every weekend, this is actually a smart and cautious approach by KTM.

I do think that if Sacha is running away with the main event wins, he should pull off at the white flag. He gains nothing by taking a win away from one of these kids.

Has this rumor even been corroborated anywhere?  And, if I am reading the schedule right there is only 1 SMX Next race before the East starts, so he would get only 1 tune up race...

Sacha will start supercross in 250 East.   No SMX next.

Why does everyone refer to the SMX guys as “kids” most of them are the same age as Sacha..

What I was thinking with "no near factory bikes" is, if this is supposed to be a "development" class, or something to that effect, keep it a bit more simple and cost effective to develope rider skill. The creme will still rise to the top.

At first I was thinking Sacha didn't belong in the class. But then I remembered what that class really is.  And it was pretty much made for riders like him.

Its not really a developmental class.   Its a way for teams to see how a rider will perform when they are on the same track, bike, TV, etc. as they will be when they race the series fulltime.    It happens to also provide a path for a rider with  little less support to get an SX lic. If they are able to line up some sort of Team to get them entered.  I have not looked at the rules recently, but in the past You needed some sort of affiliation with a team to be able to ride in the SMX next or combine races.   There was no path to race one without having a team behind you. That could have changed  sin the past couple years.  With the regular east west races You do not need to be on a team, and can sign up as long as You have a SX lic. So really in a way, a rider racing SMX next most likely has the same level or MORE support than  one that is lined up as a privateer.

Go and listen to when  they were first talking about the Combines and SMX next on podcasts and describing what it is. Or listen to how the people in the media and in charge of the races describe the SMX next and Combine races.  In my opinion it is LESS of a development class than  the  250 East and West classes are.  Its not a real series , its a tryout for riders who are already on the radar of teams.

Lorretta's ,  the Am day at Daytona , Mini O's , Arenacross are the real developmental  races or series.

you are stating it as if Sacha is an adult versus kids. Aren’t you a legal adult when you turn 18? Meaning no longer a child or a kid.

Yeah it absolutely amazes that people think a guy with Sacha’s ability is scared or concerned about “not racing sx to avoid injury.” That’s absurd. The guys at that level don’t think along those lines.

Buddies are coming over to America literally to race Supercross? That’s the entire point of moving here. The focus of AMA is mostly sx so best to get started now.

Thinking along the lines of “sitting out to avoid injury” then 1/2 the 250 field should park it & just wait for outdoors

Dude, no need to go all Vital on us and play with semantics. They're all teenagers. They're kids. Sacha has simply accomplished a lot more than the rest of them in SMX Next. Yeah, they can vote and sign up for the military, but they're kids.

No need to argue about this, I'll buy you a beer if you go to the Baltimore race. We'll see if Sacha is still uninjured by then.

Or they’re not retards and know that spinning endless test track laps isn’t the same as riding and racing sx on race day. Where the track develops much different.
