"we do not have to look over our shoulders"

It's simple; just don't do it.

Well, with the blood bath Rs got yesterday. Obviously we are in for big changes. What I want to know, is anyone going to change their spending habits going forward based on yesterday's results? How will this information affect how you spend your money on your hobbies? Will small businesses benefit or will people continue to hold their budgets tight? Do you feel it's ok to start spending or tighten the budget further?

TM

I can at least touch on this and speak to what I'm seeing from moto brands. In the last couple of months leading up to this, budgets have tightened, and spending has been reduced. We'll see how it trends over the next three months or so.

The merry go round continues. Wonder how many people still believe in the game, and if they wrote their letters to Santa yesterday?

Don’t think it’s just moto either. Everyone’s budgets have tightened.

i think we see a lot less holiday travel this year and families spending 10s of thousands of dollars on vacations.

That has already been happening for many months. People cant afford it and credit card debt has jumped with people just trying to survive and now winter utilities expenses are just taking off. Its not good!

When sitting in my hot tub every night I watch the airplanes coming and going to Charlotte and there are not as many flights.

I was at Walmart the other day and they had big sales on leftover Halloween candy. Normally, it's at least 50% off until it's gone. This year it had handwritten signs saying 25% off at register only? The world is indeed ending now if Walmart tightens their belts like this 😋

I was there recently and not one person was in their pajamas.

Question: Is this a symptom of what has been happening for several months or preparation for the end of the world based on yesterday?

Looking forward to a more stable world economy, less uncertainty on what today's stock market manipulation is, the lifting of tariffs, the end of a stupid war only one country wanted, the blockade ended and oil prices down (fuel we'll see but they won't ever go back right down because we're now conditioned to a higher price), interest rates down and investors and CEO's willing to take chances again and do maintenance which leads to spending. Then the money will flow on, but it will take some time I think.

Democracy both representative and direct is a fascinating thing.

Don't quote me about asking about spending habits and turn it into what you want to talk about. If you want to get yourself a time out, keep me out of your drivel.

In a past life, I used to design automation equipment for large companies. PackExpo was the largest trade show (in the US) at McCormick Place in Chicago. If there was an election coming up that the execs did not know which way it 2was going to go, they held investment money till after the election. They wanted to have an idea what direction things would go before spending significant amounts of money. I recall being at a hospitality suite one evening  when they announced Bush had won (on one occasion) many contracts were signed that night in that suite. Point being, people like to assess what's ahead before making financial commitments. But, another question is, do people even have expendable income to spend?

As an FYI, that show is small compared to Dusseldorf in Germany which we also displayed at.

Seeing Vital non moto members not being able to talk politics this morning is like watching someone desperately trying to hold in an explosive turd while nowhere near a toilet.

…and in other news today, thousands are now facing unemployment in the US as the riot industry deals with huge sudden drop in demand!

Yea TM and ML, I've got to change my spending habits now.  I was planning on getting one of these Specialized Stumpjumper 15 EVO Comps right at $5,000.   But now I can't.  😄
