That would be great for the sport!  JGR was ahead of their time IMO.

So is it possible that Brayton (JGR) is going to have a team before Chad? Who has that on their bingo card?

There is nothing in the works. He was just on the pulp show last night and said that he would like to bring it back someday.

If you look them up, they had some pretty solid riders over the years.  Who wouldn't have signed grant in 09?  Stewart?  A prime Barcia?

They are just parroting what Matthes said in a podcast about Albrecht. There is no critical thinking happening lol

You never know how it’s going to work out. Which riders were you responsible for signing?

Lol.  Everyone other than Peick was a disaster for them.  With the resources they had, the results were abysmal.

Wrong answer.  Search my history and you will find I have brought this up many times.  Same with other teams with terrible leadership.  Maybe they were just misplaced like Jeremy being a mechanic and all of the sudden is tapped to run a whole team.

I agree something was off with JGR, they got a little out of a lot. Part of the problem was attracting talent willing to relocate to a training facility in NC. Kinda funny if you think about the industry trends now. But ultimately they failed because they couldn't land sponsorship money. They had all of those NASCAR carryover sponsors all over the bikes but even with the JGR name and marketing resources they couldn't get any new money. Meanwhile some guy named Dustin Pipes was building a team on the same bikes but with a fraction of the OEM support and his program never seemed to want for sponsorship.

I remember in an interview, I believe it was Phil Lawrence, stated a lot of JGR's NASCAR sponsors didn't want their names on the bikes for free as a trial even.

Yeah riders weren't the issues. Grant, stew, millsaps. Brayton, nicolleti, barcia and more.

Part of the problem is Nascar guys were trying to engineer the problems snd the approach didnt work. They were also dealing with a bike thst had zero development from the factory. Had they switched to ANY other brand they're bikes would've fared better

It has been stated in the past that JGR was adversarial with it's manufacturers at times.

The staffing was more worried about partying and boozing than racing.

Yamaha. In multiple interviews with prior staff, including Pulps latest from monday, there was a lot of issues with between them and the factory Yamaha corporate/team.

the custom shock they developed was a result of them in 08/09 buying 500k in suspsension/ tooling only to be told they have to spend that again on the completely new 2010.

Per Brayton, it took them till about 2014 to have the bike sorted out. but during that time, there were options to switch to Kawasaki or suzuki (earlier)

with suzuki, the relationship was better, but they were saddled with doing a lot of developing as well when the 2018 450 came out.

I will adjust what i said, having someone like Coy did allow the team to do things no other teams were doing. taking the risk of developing a custom shock is unheard of, but he also did things like make the gas tank narrower and other ideas that the industry misses

It also goes to show that even with virtually unlimited resources, willingness to make radical bike changes, etc., if you lack the correct leadership and team, and a motorcycle with a decent enough foundation, you go nowhere, even with the best riders.  Seems pretty clear that Kawasaki has the wrong leadership, and a bike with a pretty narrow setup window that simply won't perform at the very elite winning level without some radical changes to their approach.

What was the tweet? Something that suggested JGR might get back into moto?

On Pulpmx monday, they had TY on for interview. his comment was effectively the ''JGR MX isnt closed" and loosely mentioned its a possibility to come back.

at least to me, it reads like if the right timing/opportunity came up, they would jump back in, but there is nothing happening on the horizon. Would be cool to see them back though, maybe they should call Chad Reed
