Ktm already is patting themselves on the back with the Prado coup, imagine doing the same thing a second time.
It would be two massive middle fingers and it would be glorious.
Especially if Chase comes out swinging and kicks ass.

They could put him on a Husky or a Gas Gas.

It's a whole lot easier to let bygones be bygones when you're dealing with riders at Sexton's and Prado's level...or it should be.

And Chase would most likely come out and kick ass. The new bike is supposed to be a bit better and he was already good on the current gen bike.

Obviously the opportunity of picking up a rider of Chase's caliber doesnt come along very often, but I wonder how signing him would make sense in the mid to long term for KTM. They have a super young team with Prado and Lucas locked in for at least 2 more years and Sacha, Ryder D and JuJu looking at moving up in 2 years or so. So unless they are banking on the Coenen bros being injured constantly (which is likely for the first year) I don't see where there would be room for Chase.
27 SX is long term enough
Im hoping he get a ride on KTM , seeing him win 2 weekends in a row at Philly and NYC in 2025 was EPIC!!
The main reasoning would be high odds on Lucas and Prado getting through the SX season without injury.
Add to that Lucas current injury.
I think it's a no brainer for KTM when it comes to paying Chase a low fixed fee. Probably the bonuses that is an issue. If he rides well he could clean out KTM. Eli was SX only, and probably insurance was cheap. Sexton, costly.
I do not believe Chase is offering much of a discount to get him to sign on the dotted line.

Look at the stats on how he did on the kawi. Won’t be hard to beat those numbers. The 2 wins almost muddy the waters, he was bad on that bike.

He has no option. Who has the money to pay full asking for Chase?
Star has to find at least the money for bonuses and Championship externally even if Yamaha would pay the salary. So they don't have the money.
KTM doesn't have to give him the full package, and they won't either. They can take a chance on two riders. Could move a 250 up during season if out of Championship hunt if needed.
Chase is coming back from ACL surgery, Prado was just coming back from making an ass of himself. I don't think any team is going to put too much pressure on Chase at round 1.
Get real. No team is going to take a gamble on him without having sky high expectations. They might give him a pass on A1, but not the entire season.
People who still cant see Prado did exactly what was needed to 100% get out of that mess are also making a ass of them self… picture yourself in his position, time running out, 3 year contract 😱, semi-crap bike, stubborn team, just flee, start all over! Thank you KTM!!!
KTM doesn't need Sexton...or want him. He'd have to ride for BO and no salary and...he wouldn't be the #1 guy there. He wouldn't get anything he wanted by a long stretch. I don't see KTM under any scenario wanting Chase. His biggest hope to some degree is signing with Suzuki or holding out until someone gets injured. The guy has literally zero leverage right now...like NONE.

There's a way to go about it without pulling your pants down and embarrassing yourself in front of the entire industry. Chase got out relatively quietly and even gave Kawi a public thank you on the way out the door.

And btw, there cant be much noise where ure sidelined. There was enough drama up until that point.
Now let’s get this straight early on,
Chase snapped his ACL on 20th June, he’s due back at A1 on 9th January- that’s 29 weeks to heal and train.
In 2025, Jett snapped his ACL on 2nd February, he then went 1-1 at Fox raceway 16 weeks later on May 24th.
Granted, we don’t know that both injuries were the same, we only have “snapped ACL” to go on, so we can only assume both injuries were the same or similar.
Chase has no excuses regarding this injury going in to 2027.
With the current line up at KTM ,including the brothers . Chase has very little leverage over KTM.
