All I’ve gotten out of you is basically riders don’t have anything to do with sales, the manufacturers only race for pride and to win.  This doesn’t translate at all to sales. Paying riders to ride their bikes are purely for development and pride of winning. And that I should take Bobby Regan as an example to your thoughts.

You should never run a company brotha. I’m definitely entertained though.

They did?  Would you mind showing the sales volume numbers to support your claim, or is that something you made up?

My guess is the latter, but it misses my point.  The point being that manufacturers hire these riders to win because wins equal exposure and more exposure (hopefully) leads to sales increase. That’s why Yamaha put an ad in the magazines with their championship riders promoting their bikes.

don't have the data (it was 1979 dingleberry) but Suzuki released radically new models in 1979 that won every shootout. yamaha didn't make major changes until 1980. it's a no brainer but i doubt it would register with you.....

I’d say keefer sells more bikes than any one rider

For sure sells as many sprockets at MXA...except just the opposite. Instead of going up a tooth, Keefer goes down.

Sales figures are not published, but going off US frame numbers, 61,447 RMs were manufactured in 1978 and 195,164 were manufactured in 1979.

1978 RM80 16,083 (Frame# 23349 to 39432), RM100 5,191 (23120 to 28311), RM125 22,477 (61851 to 84328), RM250 12,038 (26795 to 38833), RM400 5,658 (100001 to 105659).

1979 RM80 160,576 (Frame# 39433 to 200009), RM100 4,731 (28312 to 33043), RM125 18,174 (84328 to 102502), RM250 4,921 (38834 to 43891), RM400 4,056 (105660 to 109716).

1979 RM60 2,706 (100024 to 102730), RM60 was new in 1979.

I'm highly skeptical of the RM80 figures for 1979.

Yamaha is a pretty established brand that pays a lot of money to align with Deegan, whether he sells a lot of bikes for them or not, Yamaha spends a fortune believing he does.

lol dude you guys are unreal.  Yes man, the answer is yes. Deegan 100% helps Yamaha sell Yamahas. He’s the most popular rider with the biggest fan base. That’s a fact not an opinion. You don’t have to be a fan of him, but that’s just facts dude

I just don't see it.... sure, I see cringe lord t shirts at the races, about the same amount as the Lawrences tbh.... but men don't wear another man's name on them... so that's a bunch of pimpled up teens with no sense to them...

I don't see because look at attendance rd2 of stupidcross... empty afff, the week after a cringe lord win, at a track in cali....

I don't see it on the media's socials either... a cringe lord post barely gets more engagement than one about webb or hunter...

Then theres... cringe lords social stats are big for a moto rider... but miles away from being actually mainstream... I can literally name a thousand names with larger yt/insta/x followers that you've never heard of before...

Most hated yes by a wide margin... most popular oh hell naw...

Sorry but way more Deegz merch than anyone else at the races. At least at the several Nationals I was at on the East Coast. Unless it was an anomaly, it was probably like that at all the Nats. Deegz has a ton of haters but he has a TON of fans

The main reason to have a factory race team is to sell bikes and create a positive image around the brand.

Haiden Deagan’s personality seems to be polarising, half his fans, particularly the GenZ youngsters love his outgoing aura and social media presence whilst the other 50% hate his brashness, dirty riding and particularly his reluctance to step forward and race for Team USA at the MxoN.
Does Deagan create a positive image for Yamaha and actually sell bikes?. Has anyone here on Vital actually bought a bike because of his results?

Yes he does, get over it. Way less than your thinking, he still does. He makes much more brand merchandising and clicks on stupid media. John Ayers would shit his pants if mx riders could bring they're own merchandise trailers to events. (Aka nascar)

There would be 2 lines, Lawrence's to left, Deegan to right. Everyone else make your way back to 2nd or 3rd row.

Anybody who buys a dirtbike  -- or any big-ticket item, for that matter -- because "some rider" or "some movie twat' has one, is a weak-minded nitwit. What happened to quality, engineering, fit, etc? Maybe even price?

The Doucheboy's  "followers" are mostly the Gen Z tiktok generation as dumb as he is....without his income. They don't have a pot to piss in, mommy and daddy buys them their iPhones. They are NOT buying dirtbikes no matter who rides them on TV.

People who can afford dirtbikes anymore, don't buy a bike because so-and-so rides one..... and think the Deegan carnies are an embarrassment to the motorcycle industry.

Yamahas sell based on technology and 50 years of racing success,  not because some douchebag kid wth the IQ of a turnip rides one.

So, NO.

I find it interesting the deegan haters just rant on and on name calling and trying to insult others’ intelligence. Can’t help themselves I guess.

Also in the grand scheme of things no one cares about anyone on this forum. It's a super tiny fraction of a fraction of the market and it's mostly filled with angry boomers who are mad about something always
