I'm not paying $160 for supercross tickets

This shit can't continue.  Out of principle I'm not paying twice as much for tickets as I did a few years ago.  I can't be the only one that has had enough of this insanity.

Nashville 26 was my last Supercross. 200 per head for 2 tickets, 80 to park.

Spoken as humbly as possible, I am not hurting for cash. But you're right, there comes a point where it's just insanity.

They aren't trying to expand their customer base, they're trying to juice the customer base that remains.

Will you do $170.00?

I go to two races a year, I don’t care about ticket prices. I get people who go to a bunch of races would balk or go to fewer though.

I did notice prices this year shown is what you actually pay. No hidden fees at checkout from Ticketmaster.

im in the same boat. this was talked about in the LA WSX thread a couple weeks ago. When you figure in gas ($7/gallon here in los angeles), parking, food, drinks, taking a family of 4 or 5 is gonna set you back around $1,000 these days.

No thank you. I'll pay my 12.99 to peacock, BBQ dinner at home, and sit on my couch and watch it, then fall asleep with a half drank beer.

Whats crazy is I remember paying $25/ticket for A1/A2 around 2020/21. Its stupid now.

I stopped going a few years ago. I  refused to pay $ 100 a seat.

Similar situation for me.  The issue is not the money. Its that by continuing to pay, they will continue to raise prices.  Every year now has been constant price increases and they seem to get more egregious and more emboldened.

I remember getting tickets for the Oakland Supercross at a Yamaha dealer for $20/ticket, then using an empty Monster can to get a pit pass 🤣

What about $200 and a 24 pack of Monster Energy?

Tread head seats, still just $10

Wild that when the sport was arguably at its peak, you could get $10 tickets

Used to get an all access pass from the AMA for 50 notes, when I couldn’t get those anymore I stopped going.

Everyone is entitled to thier opinion, naturally, and mine is an SX/ MX race is still only worth $50.00.

Yeah ive been out for a couple years now to.

Was going to take a friend and her 2 kids to A2 last year while I was in town and they were in town for her work. Her and the kids love things like racing not so much the shit kids are into today like pads and games. And just couldn'  stomach what would have been a G for the 4 of us to go it was 480-560 plus tax and fees for tickets unless we wanted upper level tickets. Which were still for ok-ish seat like 100 dollars.

55 ir 65 for parking plus food ect.

Was able to go to Disney for the day which id argue the kids had a better time at their first Disney trip then their first SX. We did breakfast then Disney lunch at Disney, then a late dinner at Huntington Beach with a night at the beach. Grand total for the day was just over 800 with getting park hop passes and the skip the line passes.

Did the cup series on Sunday in phoenix the year before with them and we spent under 600 for the day total. We had awesome seats for 85-90 dollars.

This goes forcthe nationals 2 honestly. Especially since the vip tents and canopy along the fence bullshit. We use to hit 1-2 sx a year and 2-3 nationals a year an honestly they can fuck off aswell. Between price and honestly moving to Saturdays helped ruin it for us. Hard to take off of work for a lot of guys to leave friday and make it out on Saturday.

A1 will be sold out, probably all early west coast.

You can pay less. For a full day activity, 160 is nothing. You pay several hundred for a concert and that is maximum 3-4h.

The lazy boy recliner factory is about 45min from the house.

A trip is planned soon for a new chair.

That, and a big ass television, home cooking, a bit of quality bourbon, will have me sitting comfortably in my living room, watching the action.

(And hoping for the day with an audio simulcast as an alternative to, "inside, outside, and the reason I say that is...")

😉

I wouldn't go across the street to watch a SX, but i'd drive 8 hours to see an MX National.

I'm getting married Dec 31, and convinced the fiance to honeymoon in thousand oaks that week. Just so happens there's a dirt bike race down the street. If we just did hotels, tickets, and flights, it would be $2500. Then do 1.4x that because we are Canadian.

Some people blow thousands on regular vacations, I would pay whatever it costs to go to Anaheim 1 for the first time. But I will enjoy it, and never do it again at that price.

Lived in Texas during most of the McGrath era.

Two of us always went, back to back nights in the Astrodome, then drive up to Dallas the following weekend.

Never came close to dropping a grand over the entire two week period.

Joe Rogan used to simulcasts for UFC events where he and a group of boys would get together and live commentate on the fights.

Imagine something like that but its Matthes, Keefer, filthy phil, gypsy, etc doing live commentating.

If feld is hell bent on keeping all the media out of the races, maybe its time for the moto media to keep feld out of the commentating business?

Kinda tired of "you hate/love to see it" 10x a night

Yeah and ill argue as someone who has spent more on moto then any rational person should ( like most of us here lol) even spent money i shouldn't have that the vacation argument is a poor one.

I spent 12 days in Hawaii for me and the lady for under 5k 1,200 for tickets there 1,400 staying at Moana surfriders hotel. Got to hang out with flava flav lol

Went to lunch and dinner at nice places every night, submarine tour, whale watching, moto on the north shore on a rented bike. Sxs tour with me driving to all of the movie spots then got turned loose on their SxS for fun, pearl harbor tour, dole pineapple tour, day in the forest and at waterfalls. Scuba at turtle bay.

Honestly MX and SX is just not worth the money to go anymore every single year. But I can say that about MLB NFL and NBA now a days and they still sell left and right.

For the most part I agree about prices getting too high. But also, what do you guys think will happen as Supercross and Motocross gets more and more recognition in the mainstream media? Higher ticket prices are inevitable. They claim they want to be as popular as MotoGP or Formula 1....have you seen ticket prices for those sports? Yeah..$150 per ticket sucks, but it's still not as bad as other sports. Have you seen basic NHL game tickets? Now look up Playoff tickets. Yeah, we're getting higher but at least it isn't 3x the price it is now.

The real problem is that $50.00 isn't worth $50.00 anymore.

How  does someone downvote me thanking vitards for being awesome and giving me tons of details on hotels so I could pick a good place to take a lady and 2 kids. Lol

The nationals are a totally different situation.  I have no issue paying close to $300/ticket to go to thunder valley each year.  There is racing for the entire day, you can walk around the pits and be in the middle of everything, and the money helps support the massive track which is open year round for us to ride.

I would have no problem paying more if the extra money went directly to the riders.  But it doesn't.  We have guys -- especially so in sx -- risking their body and livelihood while not even making as much as a single ticket costs.  That's bullshit.

Just bought three good seats to A1. Flying down from Idaho. About $500 for three seats (really good seats). For my wife, daughter and I, this is well worth the memories/experience. And...compared to stick and ball sports, it is cheap. Can't remember the last time I spent less than $300 PER SEAT to go to see the Packers play in Green Bay. For tickets similar in location to where I am for SX I'd be spending $500. And...for $400 we get a full day experience. Pits, practice, racing...we are at the Stadium with something to do from 9AM to the evening.

Like anyone I always wish it was cheaper, but the world is an expensive place. Just my two cents. This will be our 4th straight year at A1 and I can honestly say the experience has been well worth the cost.

Fair enough.  But the NFL league minimum is almost $900k per player.  SX has extremely talented  privateers without adequate medical insurance collecting $20 from fans in the pits to sign their bike so they can afford to keep racing.
