Even if they did use “gear” it still wouldn’t be remotely plausible or even make sense to attempt in this sport lol.

Devils advocate -

Take an elite athlete, at his age - and let's say he was not taking creatine, not prioritizing recovery, under on protein, and doing no heavy compounds, so from a muscle growth standpoint was "untrained."

Reverse all those and a week or two could add "7lbs" of what appears to be lean tissue on the scale. It's mostly just water moved around, it's never going to happen again - save for a period off from training then coming back, but it's possible to misunderstand it and parrot it to the media.

You ever hear the weird home-schooled kids say something like "my dad flys helicopters for the Texas navy."?

It's compensating for lack of social skills.

That would be adding size by filling with glycogen and water. That isn’t adding muscle. In the absolute perfect world, the most elite athletes in the world can only naturally add about 2lbs of muscle gain per month.

Read what I wrote again, you are agreeing with me, in a contradictory fashion.

If you haven't seen an untrained (in the strength training world) early 20s, motivated trainee put on 5-7 scale lbs in two weeks when they start Creatine, heavy lifting, and prioritized recovery, I don't know what to tell you, but it's quite common. Note I said scale lbs - of course it's not full on lean tissue backed by a DEXA.

If you lift heavy, take 6 months off for injury, surgery, etc, then let me know what happens the first two weeks back - if it's only 1lb, part of your program is off.

I definitely could have misunder lol. All I am saying is I’ve been in the body building and power lifting world consistently for 15 years. Plus you can read it in any books. You are not adding more muscle fiber any faster than I stated. It isn’t humanly possible for muscle fibers to tear down and rebuild at that rate to do so. But you can gain weight and strength faster than that.

I don’t understand the downvotes. You’re spot on, even others said the same thing.

He probably upped his carb intake and now his muscles are “full”. Double his creatine and it’s possible to add that much scale weight.

No way he gained that much muscle. I don’t care if he was on a gram of test and tren.

Glad the OP made this thread. I was thinking the exact same thing. Except I thought they said 14 lbs in two weeks.

In fact, in two weeks I doubt he put on over a pound of muscle.

Had a good laugh when I heard this too. 100% they were just sick of her questions while they were prepping for a race and were trolling her.

It's definitely possible to put on 7lbs of weight in 2 weeks with increased caloric intake, and heavier weight lifting. Calling it "muscle" is a joke though.

Weight can easily fluctuate 7lbs in a few days but impossible to put on that much muscle mass

I heard that and I had to rewind it to make sure I heard correctly. I have several competitive body builder friends and they'd like to know what regiment he is on. lol

Even if you were juiced to the gills and blasting the entire pharmacy, it wouldn't be possible.

Sorry man, even with large amounts of steroids its not possible. Two weeks is simply too fast. Weight gain, yes, muscle, no.
