Not surprised but still sucks to hear that. Since 22 I've been hoping to see the 21 Dylan back. I still watch back races from that year today, he was so damn fun to watch. Congrats on a great career!
Going to miss Dylan at the races, his 21 450 outdoor championship season was one of my all time favorites to watch as a fan, because his enthusiasm for winning was almost contagious. You could tell he never took winning for granted. That he never got to properly defend it was a shame.
Great racer and great career. You have to respect that he's just not interested in doing it just for the money. If he can't compete for win's, better to just call it a career on your own terms. Wish him well in his retirement.
Smart move. Once he left yam (and, DV, but feel free to correct if im off on timeline), he was done for. Beast to medium rare real quick chasing set up on different bikes. Went from top of the food chain to guessing, which id imagine would be challenging.

Especially when you consider how good he was on that gen Yamaha. If he was healthy it would have absolutely been a 3-way battle between him, Eli, and Chase. He was FLYING at the '22 MXdN. Think he had a crash or bad starts but he looked as fast as anyone on the planet
Does anyone know if he grew up skiing at all? With the way he rides he'd be awesome in the powder. That's what I'd be doing if I "retired" in my thirties.
I guess Ducati didn't offer him the right amount of money like he was saying.
End of an era.
I thought he said in his contract he had to get top 5 in points outdoors for them to renew. Bummer he's gone, I always liked his bluntness in his interviews.
Great career for Dylan. Some great accomplishments. What does Ducati do? Toendel, Guillod, Coldenhoff? Some names off the top of my head who might be picking up the phone.
So him and barcia both had offers to stay and neither one does, ferrandis makes comments about the team having money issues this year, and now they've got a 450 seat to fill with most everyone already signed...... not a great spot for them.

None of those guys have sx skills to the level Ducati would need ,
The talk is already Colt Nichols....but what about Mitchel Harrison? I know he isn't the household name that Colt Nichols is BUT if looking for results, I'd venture to guess Harrison had better results (when all combined and averaged) than Nichols did...???

I’m fairly certain I’ve heard him say he likes skiing.
He Quaded the big gulp the year they added that hump before the uphill at Budds Creek. Craziest shit Ive ever seen, I went home to see the replay on TV, but they missed it. Everyone around me that saw it couldn’t believe it either.

Maybe colt Nicols
Forgot about Colt. I like him but he’s just not cutting it these days. Ducati’s hopes and dreams lie with RJ and finding another top 10 guy as their number two guy is going to be tough. Mitchell Harrison could be a good pick. Unless Sexton truly falls into their lap which I doubt.
Excellent career spanning from the GP's to USA and the 450 outdoor title. He was a thrill to watch during his run here in the States, from his 250 days up to his outdoor title. Great competitor who did it right. Good on him and I hope he sticks around

His 450 title is one of the most underrated titles in the modern history. He absolutely laid a beatdown on guys like Tomac and Roczen.
I'll never forget seeing Eli go full "real" beast mode to catch up to Dyaln at Washougal 2021, then Dylan wicked it up and just straight up held him off. Beat Eli at his best.

Hmmmmm…..so who joins RJ? Barcia not coming back to Ducati either.

Félicitations pour cette belle carrière, Dylan.
Very talented racer. Good luck, Dylan and thanks for the memories.

Dude was ferocious in 2021, shame we only saw flashes of that Dylan since. Was a fan after he didn't take any shit from dumbasses.

I remember seeing that! Peacock was on commercial so we got uninterrupted track sounds and wide drone shots (best part of the broadcast tbh).
Watching Dylan go wide and absolutely huck that quad left me staring wide eyed at the screen thinking did that really just happen?
Loved watching him race that summer!
