My suspicion is the actions of Deegs taking out a team mate weighs more than the words of Coop. If they sat Coop out for that and not Deegs, they'd have a huge breach of contract dispute to deal with. Even if they were to focus on Coop's words, you'd have to also listen to what Deegs said, it was intentional due to the situation of only 3 races. So he actually is saying next race, he'll take out Coop again for the spot. I doubt they can sit Coop without a big payout for Coop. And if they tried, they will be found in breach of his contract allowing him to ride whatever. And all he has to do is line up next to his target and move over on him.

It all depends on how the contract is written. I have know idea and this just speculation on my part……… but seems like they could set him down and pay him out after the race. That way he couldn’t ride another bike because he is still under contract until the race is over.

Hot take: Star Monster Energy Yamaha rider Deegan has taken out more Star Monster Energy Yamaha riders than any other riders from any other team.

Star/Yamaha likely could suspend him easily under a “conduct detrimental to the team” or morals type clauses that are in most athletes' contracts if they wanted to, and they’d probably keep it as a paid suspension just to avoid further escalation. Most contracts likely explicitly prohibit making public statements that imply intent to injure another competitor or engage in conduct that could damage the OEM, team, its employees or contractors, or its sponsors. If he tried to line up after that, he’d likely be then in breach and could end up owing attorney fees with interest, other damages, and Yamaha and Star may be able to claw back both paid and unpaid bonuses. Anyways any contractual dispute would not be resolved until long after the Finals anyway. That being said they will most likely just have a meeting and have them avoid each other for the rest of the week and next weekend and then at WSX or in SX 27 Webb will get back Deegan first chance he gets.

I think coop is pissed and sees it as dirty because he gave deegan room to go through on the inside and deegan made contact anyways. Coop even said Deegs was faster in his interview. Coop definitely didnt block off the inside and Coop definitely knows how to. Kinda makes sense as to why he looked surprised by deegans contact, it definitely wasnt because he didnt know he was there. Id be pissed too. Give you an easy pass and you take me out? F that.

Sure looks like Webb taught him a lesson. Fact of the matter is,Webb got heated in the moment and his cooler head will prevail. Like I said, he’ll look back at the footage and realize it was just racing.

So after watching Deegan's immediate post race interview still sitting on the bike, then Webb's, the truck drama, Deegan's little candid interview, etc...
So many people have gone on for so long about Deegan needing to mature...
Racing incident, and the immature one on all fronts was Webb in this situation, big time. Deegan handled it all like a seasoned pro while Webb basically had a childish meltdown.
My take is Webb thinks their relationship makes it ok for him to hold Deegan up for half a race, cut down knowing Deegan's on the inside, etc, and Deegan needs to accept it because buddy/mentor/elder status.
You can tell even though that's absurd, Deegan felt bad, genuinely - but shit happens, kid was just in 2nd, Shane cracked his hand and Kenny ran full bore into him, shit happens in the next few turns.

lol same for me, have always rolled my eyes at some of the antics, still not the biggest fan, but I have grown to respect him a ton and also just ordered a shirt few days ago because I love that he loves mxon.
