Fixed my post. I have a '23
Mine is a ‘24. Same, same.
I disagree, it has to do with a lugger vs revver. If you're a lugger, the anemic bottom end of the 250f doesn't cut it.
I ride natural deep sand tracks. I’m not racing just riding for fun but big hills and natural deep sand whoops burns etc.

Love my 25 FC350. Better than my 21,22, and 23 MC350. Best bike for most vet guys imo.
I haven’t ridden a 350 in sand, but I did a test ride on a 2018 450 Yamaha, and it was easier to ride on a sand moto track than any 250f or 125/250 2t I have ridden in sand unless there are a lot of tight corners (woods riding tight corners not moto tight corners).
I was looking for test videos on the 26 350sxf, YouTube only shows tests on the 25? Am I an idiot or did no one test the 26?
Pretty sure they were the same?
25/26 identical besides BNG
The 27 has a choked down muffler, so keep your 23-26 slip on, it fits… the 27 air filter cage and filter are different to aid in sound reduction….the 23-26 two stroke cage & filters fit ….FYI…
yep almost every rider is faster on a 350 . I look at the new Honda 450 and want one . then I reide my 25 350 and realize it's really the perfect bike for me 61 years old and do ok
I constantly think I want another 450 but then everytime I ride my 350 I'm reminded otherwise. Think I need to just have a 450 in the shed so everytime i ride it, it can remind me I don't need one ha ha. I actually went the other way and picked up a new 250f, that might actually be even more fun than the 350 on hardpack tracks.
Get the 350. Usable torque and not too much like a 450 and handle much better on decel
Does anyone have experience with the 6500 kit? Is that the way to go ? And who do use recommend doing the best revalve? Munn who is selling the bike mentioned they do wp suspension work to, I was thinking powerband cuz they did my last ktm in 2015

Yes, it is a massive improvement over the air fork. Atleast for me it is. Front end feels planted and I can actually feel the front tire.
Ride JBI did mine and they are awesome.
I personally didn’t have any issues with front end feel on the air fork. Maybe if you are riding on hard pack, dry-slippery tracks, I could agree the air fork isn’t as good, but its just as good or even better on soft loamy or sand tracks.
The 6500 is a nice bit of kit, but the biggest advantage of a 6500 (or similar spring conversion) is you don’t have to worry about checking and adjusting air pressure.
Basically, a well set up 6500 can work just as good as a well setup air fork. It probably comes down to your budget, your willingness to monitor your air pressure throughout the day, and what your preferred suspension tuner likes, knows how to work with and has good settings for.
What model years were the four 350s that you owned? I have a 2022 and I'm curious about progression/development over the past few years. We all know about the stiffer frames in 2023. So going from 22'->23' doesn't seem like hands down a huge gain. But how did things progress after that? When was the biggest improvement made in the last 4-5 years of the 350?
Pit Row
I know you didn't directly ask me but I've had a 13,19,22,23 and 25 350sxf. Excluding the 13 I feel the biggest jump was from the 22 to 23. The only part were some feel it took a step backwards is the stiffer frame, some feel this I personally don't unless im riding a concrete hard track.
In 25 they revised the frame to try soften it a bit but I don't think the difference was very big at all and most probably wouldn't even notice it.
I think overall the best 350 made to date is the 25/26 model. I honestly think it could be the best all round motocross bike ever built.
I appreciate the info, thanks. Very interesting real world feedback. Where do you feel the greatest benefit in the 23+ models? Is it handling? Is it the quickshift feature? Suspension? Power? When you got on the 23' what was the first thing that made you go "wow"?
I think the biggest 2 things I noticed were power and steering precision. The 23+ motor really is like a mini 450 rather than a bigger 250, which is more what I felt the 22 and earlier were like.
It does still love being revved but you can definitely get away with short shifting and lugging it to a degree, alot more than the older models.
I always had an unsettled front wheel feel coming into corners on the 22 and earlier models. I just never felt like I could trust the front when I would first start to initiate a turn and it would unsettle me and stuff up the rest of the corner. I've tried stock suspension, revalved stock and multiple spring conversion on all models and that feeling would always be there on the older model.
With the 23 I feel that area was drastically improved and that was probably because of the stiffer chassis. So for me even though it might have been slightly firmer feeling on some bumps the gain in the steering precision was well worth that trade off to me.
I never use quickshift or traction control on any bikes ever and always ran the green map with the stock ecu. I was more than happy with the stock power but I can't help myself so I did a vortex and twin injector and it just improved an already amazing stock motor. It is 100% not needed but pretty cool if you can afford it. I also eventually added luxon 23.5mm clamps and linkage knuckle, again they weren't needed but were definitely an improvement from stock.
Hope this info helps.
Ive had a 19,21,24 & now. 27….loved them all, others have summed it up…newer generation stiffer frame, better low end transition….I”ve had a set of spring forks I been using for years…don’t bother with the Aer forks, but have used them on/ off, just take more time to setup & deal with….I feel it was easier to find chassis sweet spot on the prior generation bikes but the only reason I ever got new bikes was due to 100+ hrs and not wanting to deal with rebuilding…..I would have no issues riding a low hr 22 bike….
Rocket, after a few suspension set up woes on my yam, i ended up trying Levi Kilbarger at Bonzi. His settings were amazing and brought me enough confidence and speed to go from struggling my way around red bud at the regional to actually being able to push at Lincoln and make it to Lorettas. I talked to him about ktm swaps to spring and if I buy one, whether i go kyb or 6500, hes doing it. I'm still super stuck between 350 and stark because i don't know if im ready to quit racing big events lol.
Hmmm, another 350 thread and I need to upgrade the ecu, suspensio, airbox, muffler and frame is rigid. The kx450 is sounding better and better
That's the exact boat I'm in. The only thing that interests me besides my 350 is a Stark. Which I refuse to even test one because I hear how good they are and I'll want one immediately. Definitely getting another new 350. I got about 110hrs on my '23. I'm so much more aggressive on it than a 450. Way more fun and feels way lighter
I know plenty of guys that run them, pretty much stock… its fun to upgrade/tinker with your bike..no?
Sure, if you like heavy slugs. Lol
Chris, i did the same as you and intentionally stayed off my buddies Stark until after Lorettas. I rode it a couple weeks ago no just around his property. No gear and no track test. Holy shit it was the fastest thing I've ever ridden/driven from 0-80 on 80hp. Id ride it on a track probably on 50ish. Following my daughter around on 35hp and not worrying about over heating is the practicality part for me. I just cant afford two new bikes at the moment so ive gotta decide. Its actually making me contemplate selling my road glide i just bought last year to free up space and money for both lol.
Heavy slug? Haha I actually just sold my 350. Got tired of always searching for more bottom end- I'm a lugger. I've been on Kim's the past 10 yrs and want to try a Japanese bike again. That '27 Crf450 has caught my eye
The kaw is what i was referring to lol. I understand though if youre a lugger. The new crf has tempted me as well. I did love my Yamaha and would recommend it to anyone wanting a 450.
A couple years after having my 350, I thought maybe I need to go back to a 450. Rode my buddies new Kawi 450 and I couldn't believe how heavy it felt. Different strokes for different folks. I would sooner go down to a 250 than go up to a 450.
