FELD Banning Team Managers From Events (WTF)

^^^agree 100%. All administrations, for quite some time, have been headed down this path. They all suck. 

Back to this OP subject, did the team managers actually break a rule, or just talk about something that could be construed as breaking a rule in a private discussion?  That is odd…

If that’s happens, I’m out.

I want the competition between teams, riders, crews, to be real competition, not owned and managed by a corporation.

I think they are coming down on that teams are being co-conspirators when they sync about race outcome.

For betting, it's need to be reasonably set and they need to show that they don't tolerate it.

Yamaha is out, if KTM is out and there is no effect on top riders since they cancel themselves out. Anyone betting wouldn't have that same information.

If it's within a team I think it's another thing.

Wait until they turn half the show into "one-wheel skills" competition...

What if...and again, I know it's insane...but what if...this very site (VITAL) who is probably the biggest platform for news/info for our sport....picked up a phone....and ASKED FELD if this was true and their justification.

I know it's nuts, but boy, wouldn't that be interesting? 🙄

It sounds like they were suspended for talking about boycotting the second moto.

FELD's way of making sure they have absolute control over the event, teams and riders don't have a say.

The team manager suspension is going to give them a nice long weekend to form a union. I hope Feld reads my post.

Confirmed that Star's 250 team manager (Jensen Hendler) and 5.11 Triumph Factory Racing's General Manager Jeremy Coker have both been suspended for the LA round of SMX and removed from the team communication text chain.

Confirmed that TLD Ducati's team manager (Josh Wisenor) was removed from the text chain and has had his team manager tower rights revoked. There's a rumor of one more team manager/owner who has also been removed but I haven't been able to confirm this at the time of writing.

Yes, the suspensions started over the team members commenting on how much money the mud races are burning on equipment. As one stated, it's over $50,000 in just engines for a two rider operation. It sounds like the other managers and owners were asking for one moto format, move back, switch schedule, just anything to not burn equipment on races for no reason.

Wow, you know what the first thing I did was when I woke up this morning? Texted the four team managers that were rumored to have been clipped and texted Feld PR if there will be a statement regarding this.

It's fucking 7am Pacific time on a Monday and you're already bitching about the media not doing their job....Talk about being entitled...

It would be outstanding for all the teams to refuse to show up at the remaining rounds. Fuck Feld.

Am I missing something or if the sponsors don't care if they race SMX, then the teams are not obligated to attend?    

 Wouldn't non-participation be a decent strategy to keep Feld in check?

If the main concern is budget, are the budgets just getting tighter or mismanaged?


Seems like Feld is trying to send a message by restricting access, they must feel threatened.

Waiting for the Matthes ‘hostage video’ to drop any minute assuring us that we are all insane and Feld is godly. 
 

Dont blame the teams. I wouldn't burn up 25K Engines to roll around in mud for a 8-13th place in a moto then to turn around and do it again. For what? 

how does a major team not have basically stock engines on standby knowing its going to be a mudder? Seems like a team manager job to see that happen imo. 

Best thing that can happen is if the fans don’t show up. If you think what feld did was wrong don’t spend your money with them. Let their actions cost them something.  They are casually spending the teams money in an attempt to gain yours for themselves. Don’t talk walk. 

The price of a TV package is more than the sport can handle. 

lol hey man at the end of the day its a rolling circus (Marketing Tour) where the Manufacturers and Promoter are all tangled in a beautiful web of conflicting and complimenting interests. The people who pay to play (promotor and global execs of the manufacturers) will always impose on those being paid (riders/personnel/media etc.). "Mafia" is the cry when Infront/Youthstream comes up in discussion here but it aint no different stateside.

He always complains about the media. More often than not about Vital/ML. 

You guys sound a lot like Cooksey---who will probably have the full story. This place is too inconsistent..complain when teams want start money, complain when they dont get enough money..

At a nat or sx, I don't think they care because they are budgeted for it... 

Stupidcross is different... while the riders gotta show up to basically get their nut for the yr, for the teams, it's a lot more expense, with much less marketing return... 

At some point I'd expect the teams to tell feld "we aren't supporting smx anymore unless you pay us to do so".... 

Maybe a particular team was hounding Feld to flood the track at the next 2 rounds?
