When? One or two races?

I think he'll get one in both at some point assuming he figures his starts out. MX seems more likely but people seem to forget or ignore just how much faster he was through corners then the other riders in SX. If that corner speed carriers over to the 450 that alone is going to put him in the top 5 right from the start.

This season Davies smoked that Deegandashian ass again easily once the pressure was off and his regional SX title was won this year..

Davies won his 1st SX title in his second season..took Deegandashian 3 seasons.

I could go on…

Wait, I was just told that finishing 2nd or 3rd as a rookie meant you had a phenomenal season. Was I lied to all summer?

If he wants to beat the Hunter Bros hes going to have to learn how to ride some what like them.

In SX, I will be surprised to be surprised for him to make a podium if everyone is healthy.

In MX Hunter, Conen, Jett and Sexton are faster than him, maybe add prado do that list if he finds his true form.

I think he will definitely win at least one of each before he retires from the sport.  He is only 20 yrs old.

Tomac won his first 450SX title during his 7th season.  He won his first 450MX title during his 4th season.

Professional dirt bike racers typically peak between 25-28 yrs old.

In the 3 east/west showdowns; Cole Davies scored 75 points to Haiden Deegans 68 points. Pop that champagne Cole

Maybe he will. Maybe he won’t.

The kid’s had one outdoor season on the 450 going up against Jett and hunter (seasoned vets Jett is much faster than what he showed in the Nats). That’s like asking if Hunter Lawrence (at age 20 in 2019) would ever win an SX or Mx championship against the current champs Cooper Webb and Eli Tomac. And I guess you could say he was 0-24 in MX and 0-12 for SX. But what happened? With the help of his brother he finally won MX 7 years later. The chances of Deegan winning one in the next 7 years is very high.

Like him or not, it was his rookie 450 season this year and he had a very good rookie season.

I not a Deegan fan at all but I think that's a pretty bad comparison. I can already see him showing some maturity, eating some humble pie from the Lawrence's probably helps. I think he'll put in the work to get to that level instead of just resorting to being another "Bam Bam"

Gonna be tough.  It’ll have to be between the Jett Lawrence and Cole Davies eras.

He reminds me of Miley Cyrus. So no.

I'm a fan of chaos so I hope he wins SMX this year just so we can see everyone meltdown here.  38 and his fans would carry it like it was the most prestigious title and everyone else would argue it was a title that didn't count.  It would keep this place lively all the way up to A1 when things start mattering again.

I think so. I think it’s too easy to get distracted by his negative qualities and overlook his extremely strong fundamentals. He’ll get more acclimated to the big bike, if not next year, then surely by 2028. And they all have to survive the meat grinder; so many recent titles came to the last (fast) man standing. The chips could definitely fall in his favor.

Feel like SMX could be his shot to win something. Hunter has had a hell of a year, I’m sure he will show up, but if he doesn’t, Deegan could win. No whoops too. I hope we get the same Kenny from sx and they put it to him. Mx must’ve been pretty embarrassing considering his expectations. He HAS to win something this smx imo to set himself up as a guy to beat next year.

I predict a Webb type rookie season in sx from Deegan.

I think he'll get one in both at some point assuming he figures his starts out. MX seems more likely but people seem to forget or ignore just how much faster he was through corners then the other riders in SX. If that corner speed carriers over to the 450 that alone is going to put him in the top 5 right from the start.

He will be in the top 5 450 riders that’s for sure.

But his corner speed compared to the other 250 riders is a bit irrelevant. There hasn’t been much talent going on in the 250 class for the last few years besides Deegan.

Figure his starts out? Plenty of excuses for his season but starts are not one of them. Besides the first couple nationals he was up front on the start at just about all of them.

If Kenny can get a SX title after all these years I’m sure Deegs will win at least one MX or SX championship. He seems pretty durable besides self inflicted mishaps so I’m guessing he’ll outlast one of these seasons

Here’s something to consider: the Deegan brand has, like Pastrana, already proven that a major MX or SX title is not necessary to mine riches from their respective audiences and sponsors. The question is will Haiden stay interested in the sport long enough to win a title (or two), or will he go off and do something else?

I don't think anyone had Jason Anderson winning a SX title on their bingo card.  So yes, Haiden can win one.

I just checked with Zoltar down at the arcade. His response: “Yes, Hayden Deegan will win pro championships. And, he will do it without his brother running interference.”  Damn, even Zoltar recognizes when ‘the fix’ is in….🤷‍♂️🏁👈

this seems more like stirring up $hit than wanting to know what people think. Not worthy of a separate poll after so much previous discussion and prognosticating. He's only finishing his 1st 450 season and didn't dominate like some predicted- so how about we let him race a couple seasons and look back how many titles he's won by then?

What would that something else be?  You're right about the 199 having another avenue but he was at the forefront of a new and booming sport.

I have no idea, I’ll leave that up to Brian and Monster. But following the lead of his old man, as well as the niche he has already carved out in social media, he could retire and just make videos and sling merch. Race trophy trucks? Get married and raise another Danger Deegan?

Deegan doesn't necessarily need another avenue.  He could race for the next 8-10 years and retire a multimillionaire having never won a title and never need to work another day in his life.  I don't see that happening though.  I also don't think he'll win ten titles and set records.  The most likely scenario is somewhere between zero titles and ten and he retires with more money than he needs.   I think I saw in one interview, where his parents had him invest in real-estate with the money he won during the first couple years of his pro career.  He seems to be pretty good about riding within the limits of crashing and injuring himself other than that, dumb move with shimoda, where he broke his collarbone so he should be able to stay healthy and competitive, for many, many years to come.

That’s why he gets all the hate. Deegan is already successful without the 450 title. It’s just the cherry on top of an already successful life.
The haters can suck it. They ain’t never going to beat him unless their last names Lawrence…..even then it’s going to take at least  2 of them.

If the same question was asked about Hunter Lawrence after his rookie season (which, despite views to the contrary, was much like Deegan’s given that Jett was out), I wonder what the answers would be?

I suppose something along the lines of…not as long as Jett and Chase are racing. Look how that turned out. The same opinions has Deegan never winning a 450 title, yet has practically already handed one to Cole Davies.

The collective opinions here are often ill informed and based on personal like/dislike of a particular rider, and not on fair, objective criteria. It just happens to be really bad when it comes to Haiden Deegan.
