Terry made a deal with Don Jones who controlled the bikes, etc. Gary knows that and Gary knew who the boss of the Jones family was......his Dad

How is that not stealing?

If they mare his property how did someone sell them legally?

They were not his property, They were all owned by His dad Don Jones and then his wife, it was the family that sold them to TG and Gary said later on he was pissed at his family members who sold them.

By “His Dad’s Wife” I assume you mean a 2nd wife….not his Mother.

Hint: Then that’s the source of his anger. He stored his stuff at his Dad’s house. His stepmom sold it off….

Not hard to understand

Very sick to bring up a year’s old thread to throw shade on someone who is no longer here  to defend himself.

Agrees with what, that the property was stolen and that he has a stepmom? No, he doesn't agree with you.

From Gary’s Statement:

“It is with great sadness that I acknowledge that these bikes are gone from my personal possession. This came as a complete shock and surprise to me. I had always assumed they were safely stored and at some point in my life I would decide where they would finally go; be it to my children, my friends or a place of my choice.”

FYI: Gary felt his bikes & stuff was being stored at his Dad’s house. His Dad passed away, his stepmom sold all his stuff. Purposely didn’t say a word until the sale was over.

You can’t spin this any other way.

I'm well aware of what happened. Nobody including Gary Jones is claiming theft or illegality and you made the part up about an apparent stepmom and posted it as fact. His mom and other family members made the deal with Terry Good, could have legally sold the stuff to anyone. This issue Gary Jones has/had with Good is moral/ethical, not legal.

Symantec’s

Gary’s Statement;

”Bikes Are Gone From My Personal Possession”…..”Sold Without My Permission”…

Sounds a lot like stolen to me….

Mom and “Other Family Members”…..

Translation: His Dad died. His STEPMOTHER and her kids from an earlier marriage sold off his stuff.

At the moment Gary hasn’t decided if it’s worth pursuing legal recourse because the stuff had been at his Dad’s house for 30-40 years..

His Stepmom and her kids still sold off his bikes & memorabilia.

Holy shit man. Melinda Jones is Gary's mom and was in charge of the father's estate. The property was sold by the estate, not some imaginary stepmom with imaginary kids from an earlier marriage.

Terry Good's story was full of holes, but the point many of us take issue with is that Good knew that Gary did not want his championship bikes to be sold and Good did everything to go around him to get those bikes, finally convincing an elderly lady to give him the bikes without Gary's knowledge. Good tried to claim that Gary's dad had promised him the bikes, but Gary's dad had passed away 12 years before the incident and there was no written agreement to prove that is what Gary's dad said or intended.  A decent, ethical person would not have taken those bikes.  Here is an excerpt from Gary's post on the issue;

===========================================

In regards to the recent transaction of my championship motorcycles, I will only say one thing. There are two sides to every coin.
I unequivocally state that at no time was I notified of the meeting, a financial transaction or transport of my winning motorcycles and other personal racing memorabilia including helmets, jerseys, trophies, etc. Unfortunately, I was not aware of the sale until after the fact.  I also go on record stating the motorcycles, and other items have been asked to be purchased multiple times from a certain individual before and after the passing of my father and brother, Don and DeWayne Jones. My answer has always been no.
I was not contacted at any point to be given the opportunity to accept or decline the sale of my motorcycles.  From a personal standpoint, I am disappointed the buyer of the motorcycles was not civil or professional enough to contact me at any point. This suggests the buyer knew I would not approve of the sale. I received no financial compensation; this has nothing to do with money, but everything to do with integrity.
There is an unparalleled passion between man, machine and material when it comes to racing. This has created a close emotional connection for the memorabilia I have acquired over the years, such as helmets, jerseys, trophies and motorcycles. What makes these items valuable is the rider, such as myself, not the materialistic worth. Without my story and success, these items are worthless.
In conclusion, I do not approve or condone the display of my championship winning motorcycles or memorabilia associated with my motocross career in any sort of presentation without my prior approval. Requesting approval is the ethical thing to do, “ask before you take.”

Nothing brings family together quite like a disappointed heir.

Wouldn’t it be simple to sue the person who sold them in small claims court for each individual bike as its own individual case? Cheap and clean

I don't know much about this but, it sounds like the bikes were part of his dad's estate. It sucks all around and I hope the stuff winds up in a good museum.

If he was on good terms with his dad wouldn’t he had asked for them before he passed away? Obviously they didn’t mean that much to him that they were not in his possession years after his championships.

Terry Good was in the process of building a museum, or rather creating a museum. What happens to the bikes now is a pretty good question now. I believe even Gary Jones would think if he doesn't have possession of the bikes, it would be best if they were in a place were fans could enjoy them. I believe Terry Good has received donations or sponsors for this project, or was at least seeking them, what happens to all the financial support intended for the museum? Again, anyone know what happens to Jone's bikes now and all the others in the collection? This could end poorly.

Terry got a hold of a lot of bikes by doing some shady stuff, Gary Jones was only one. He also got ahold of some bikes because the owners of some were told they would be on display at a museum, never were. He raised a ton of money and also held fund raisers where people donated a lot of money to hangout with their hero’s, nobody knows where that money went. I know one legend that was pissed his bike went to him.

A rider and his father that I've been helping for almost twenty years told me a story about Terry. His dad had some TS125 hop up kit still new in the box and was selling to raise money for his friend because the guy was in the hospital. Plenty offers were coming in and somehow Terry got his number and wanted it donated for his museum, well he stated what he was doing and turned him down. Terry kept calling and dressing him down for not GIVING it to his museum.
