Was absolutely epic, with no racing to watch after my moto’s today I just re-watched Daytona. What a fucking badass last win for him, gets a 4th place start and has to work through Webb, Hunter and then Kenny. I was there in person and luckily was 10’ from that berm he made the pass for the lead in. It was a core memory for both me and my son, he hit that berm so hard the fucking earth shook beneath our feet! The vast majority of his wins were like this, coming through the pack, so it’s fitting for his last one to be such an epic one!

lol damnit, halfway through this post I realized he could very well win 1-3 more races in SMX 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Would love to see Tomac win again in SMX. Wish he would race in 2027. Before he got sick (or whatever it was) he was on track to win the title. All that speed is still there, somewhere inside him.

As someone else said, if Eli had skipped the Nationals as Kenny did, he would still be racing SX in 2027.

I have been into this sport since the mid 70's and Tomac has been one of the best to watch. Hannah, Howerton, Magoo, RJ, Baily, Stanton, RV, RC, Stew, etc... Tomac was one of the best and I will miss him. Wish for one more win and also for him to have a great retirement, he has earned it!

Hope he wins the SMX title or atleast many of the mains. Think for a first year on a steel frame. Being on Alum for so long. He sure was on track for the title. The illness and crashes didn’t help. Sort of like the 23’ season. We all felt the air go out of the stadium with the Achilles. But win lose or draw. One of my favorite riders of all time. After Pala just glad he is recovered. Many like to judge a rider on wins or championships alone. The length of ET’s career and endless SX and MX entertainment is vast. The stats are staggering. SX laps led. 10k plus points. Podiums. Starts. Well earned retirement.

Maybe some special appearances for Daytona and Denver SX, and Thunder Valley national. Get one last win, say goodbye to the fans and ride off a winner ala Jeremy Martin.

One can dream. I'm glad I got to see him ride in person at Vancouver WSX, he was on it.

Tomac's old training partner J-Mart didn't get enough credit for his race at Millville last year. Winning an SMX race would be a fitting end to an awesome 2026 with Kenny winning SX and Hunter's first 450 title.

We were in Daytona to witness it. Sadly it was his last when at the time we all probably thought he was about to win another SX championship. Weird how it went so far downhill after Daytona. One of the strangest collapses in history but he already had the championships to back up his legacy beforehand. Just a really weird bunch of wrecks and finishes after that epic ride.

Great point, Kenny winning his first sx title was basically every moto fans dream. But it came at the expense of Hunter, but then he got his redemption with the outdoor title, something I feel almost everyone is happy about. If Eli snags this SMX title we’d have all three champs be amazing feel good stories.

No rider ever really knows when it is their last win. Such is life. Unless you quit, as JMart did!

I do wonder why Eli is riding the last 3 SMX races, though; if he's retiring because he's worried about injury and not being good enough anymore? Why not just stop after Ironman? It was a good ride.

SMX is not exactly safe racing.

3 races easy money ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ also probably contractual obligation

I mean, hes got it in him. I do believe that. Can he unleash it, is the question. I think Hunter is too damn good right now

Hunter was great in SX when Tomac won Daytona too, it'll be a good battle if Tomac brings his best. I'm sure Kenny will be awesome as well. It'll be fun to watch! 😎

Reminds me of Carmichaels farewell season. Was at Hantown and he and Stewart had an awesome battle with him getting the O/A. Back then Riders could still take victory parade laps and was able to hang close enough on the fence got to high five him
