Yep here to post the same thing, I was a huge JT fan but it seems like he's just way more tense than he used to be. Listening to the 2013 season reviews for kicks and they were absolute gold. JT$ of 2010-2015 is an entirely different person than now. Steve hasn't changed, he has the same chip he always had but it used to roll off of each of them back then. Now they get hung up on arguing with eachother over every point.

It reminds me of being in a relationship 2 months after it needed to end. And Weege is the third wheel who's awkwardly trying to keep it fun and light.

Spot on, Weege is always trying to rein it in and placate both of their points of view. His insight is bang on as always but he sounds over it

It feels like the current iteration of the Pulp Review pod has run its course. Yeah I have some minor gripes about each of them, but at the same time I know they all have value to add. It used to be a great show and I looked forward to it every Sunday.

Now it just feels like they are over it and just going through the motions on a Sunday.

It's a free podcast and I get something out of it, it's just not as great as it used to be.

People on this thread are like JT at times. They take everything literally.

A lot of people's views and opinions are based of this pod. Hell, a lot of threads are started using their opinions.

It's still my go to pod.

Ever since getting the broadcast job JT has become a bit too big for his britches.

Dude, just lighten up a little bit.

No doubt, the Mathis review pod is not as good as it used to be.  That two of the guys are on the broadcast and they cannot admit the shortcomings of their product is frustrating and shows it will not improve

I like JT, but this is true. He has become a bit too argumentative and too ready to instantly snipe back, instead of letting the people talk and the podcast "breathe"... 25% of the time, they are saying the same bloody thing and still arguing.

Steve as well but he does lay back more often AND he is the guy trying to provide direction and comedy, overreaction for effect etc.

JT just needs to back it down a smidge. IMO. Steve, too, I guess.

It’s Stephen’s show. He makes the rules. If you’ve ever worked with a narcissistic, depressed boss—then you know how exhausting it can be. Maybe JT$ is ready to be done with it and is pushing back. Can Pulp and Stephen afford to lose JT$? I don’t think so….

Listening to Matthes for a minute as you walk past that thing he does ( did ? Not been in years ) with Weigand in the pits at SX is painful enough. I can’t imagine actually sitting through a podcast of that guys lolly gagging .

Pretty cool that you can take constructive criticism that isn’t always so constructive…another guy that is on some pods would’ve gotten way defensive with his reply or wouldn’t reply at all. You’re ok in my book!

Respectfully, you have enough tenure and credibility to not have to preface and qualify your opinions. you should just say what's on your mind without saying "i was never on Chad's level, but.'', or "i respect Haiden as a rider, but..." . noone is going to take you as being disrespectful.

thank you

I find it funny when they are arguing but basically saying the same thing. It’s like hearing a married old couple argue over something trivial. Poor Weege gets stuck in the middle and has to choose between siding with mom or dad.

I like all three guys and think their dynamic is great. I just think we are getting to the end of a long season and it is wearing thin on everyone’s patience. I’m sure there is no actual love lost between them.

This has gone away a little since joining the broadcast, but I understand that.

Is it just me or have the recent review pods been a bit much with the bickering with Steve? I know it’s a 2 way street and I’m not here to shit on JT or Steve, but some of the recent review pods have been a bit of a tough listen at times.

Honestly I wish Weege would find 2 other people to do the race review with. I listened to the Budds review this morning and it was 20 or so minutes in and JT and Steve were still arguing. They both remind me of those friends you had in high school that would swear up and down the sky is red if you said it was blue. They both thrive on arguing and disagreeing with each other . I wish they could time stamp it from now on when there Teeny bopper arguments end LOL. Rant over !

I feel like by this time of the season - these guys are a bit fried. They’ve been grinding for months, so they just a bit on edge. I usually notice the bickering level going up late in the season.

Oh well. They are human. I still listen & enjoy the shows.

Thats all were really asking for imo. Overall I love the pod. We all have off days. Just something to be aware of in the future so the pod doesnt go off the rails. Everybody has bad days sometimes weege is really bad about talking over everyone. Week to week tho overall its a solid product.

JT and Steve are the antithesis of opinions at times which is fine and makes for good conversation/debate but I do agree both he and Steve seem to get too aggressive or stern with the conversation lately where instead of it being light hearted, it comes off as disrespectful or dismissive towards each other. Thank god for Weege to rein it in when they come to a cross!

Appreciate the pods every week regardless, just seems like they could lighten up a bit when they have differences in opinion.

A lot of people's views and opinions are based of this pod. Hell, a lot of threads are started using their opinions.

It's still my go to pod.

Still my fave pod. Title 24 sucks arse - mainly because of RC. AC and JB get tiresome mainly because of Justin 'it's going to be fun to watch' Brayton, and Gypsy has a brain the size of a microscopic pea. The Blair Matthes Show is good except for when Blair starts deepthroating Deegan, while LVK is pretty good at times.

100% Its the first pod of the week I go to, but the past few its been a little hard.

They both have great opinions, but of late there seems to be more arguing for the sake of arguing; there have been times they have been saying the same thing differently and still arguing the point.

They sound like a couple that need a break from each other, bit of a separation, and poor Weege is stuck in the middle.

I listen to JT's Industry seating when they come out; his weekly pod with LIVE motocross is great as well, he has great insight and perspectve, so no hate coms on JT, or Steve, but I didn't listen to it all this week, pulled the pin early. Hadhad to rely on Lewis and Lindsay. Which is normally the second Pod I hit at the start of the week.

PulpMX show playing now.

I feel like the podcasts try to pair people with different personalities, to create conversation. but people who play off of each other is the best. Lewis seems to be paired with the complete opposite of his personality. The ML and Keller pods, are rough. When he’s on Pulp or the silly season they just did, flows way better.

I can’t listen to RC and RV, Blair and Matthes, JT solo, AC and JB. Long winded and repetitive.

I do appreciate the rotating hosts on Pulp. I think Steve, RV, and Lewis would be a shit talking fiesta.

I found Lewis through MX Vice and thought he was entertaining. His new personality of loving riders blindly has been a bit too much.

To each their own, this is my opinion.

I've continued listening via YouTube since my comments.

Both being argumentative aside, (which often makes the show) I think it is more to do with the YouTube aspect.

It seems like they don't hear when another starts talking for a second or two, so they end up talking over each other more than they used to.

It is even happening with Weege, though he doesn't argue as much, so it's less obvious. Both Steve and JT launch into their points harder, and it's harder to stop when you do.

Hopefully something they can figure out.

JT$ industry seating only one I listen to these days.  He’s rarely wrong on his takes.  Might have something to do with how many times he’s gated up.  He’s a little on the serious side.  Trying to remember if I’ve ever heard the guy laugh.

99% percent sure that user isn't JT. I can't remember what his username is, but his screen name picture is of him on a Suzuki riding SX. I feel like his username is JT$. I could be wrong though.

It would be a nearly 20 year scheme if true. User joined in 2008.

I think yall may be right. If someone has been posing as him for nearly 20 years that is pretty creepy. Mods should investigate to clip and block the fake one. That’s some serial killer level shit to do for two decades. 🤣

I didn’t think that was the real JT$ either but a super funny troll nonetheless.

To me what’s happening is that Steve is kind of using elicitation on JT, whether he knows it or not.  Basically he makes a statement that he thinks is funny even though he knows they may not be true and JT can not stop himself from correcting the record. This seems to have increased as JT has moved onto the broadcast. Not sure if the change is from reading too many comments (bit of irony if he reads this) or maybe he has gotten backlash from riders who have not liked something he has said on the review pods.

This is just my opinion of course and I’ve always sided with the more level headed JT over the years and have always enjoyed his point of view. So much so that I try and “support the products that support the sport” by buying Fly gear simply because I liked JT.
