With the nationals winding down, Deegan has established himself as a solid 450 contender. Yes, he came in with a lot of over- the-top gestures in high-school-pep-rally fashion, but has proven himself as a solid 3rd place in a hotly contested quasar level championship.

Thumbs up man. Excellent Job! 👍

@FreshTopEnd I deleted my response (not a mod this time), and we see how positive this thread stays.  I agree with you that he has had a excellent rookie season.

Oh I'm sure the same tomfoolery will erupt whether you first light the flame or not.  ✌️

What he has proven to my suprise is his consistancy.

I never thought he would win, but every week he has been up the pointy end, and mostly on two wheels. Well done Deegs.

Not bad for such a dipshit.

He is in the conversation for third but not a 100% certain thing.

There’s no question that he’s the fastest American in the series this season. It’s been a great rookie season.

Throw in sexton and Lucas, and prado steps up next year and he'll be a solid 5th-7th place guy in his second season.. gonna have another thread like this next yr??.. throw in Davies the following yr and he'll be a rock solid 6th-8th.... and he'll never go to des nations, too scared... only with cringe lord are people soooo stoked for a third/fourth/fifth place guy that gives zero fs for his own country.... 🤣

Yall gonna keep on celebrating the third place guy thing with such vigor????????? Or is this a cringe lord only thing???? How about a celebrate marchbanks and his 5th place accomplishments thread????? I've never seen an et3 celebration/accomplishment thread and he was an actual winner... is juju third in the 250s rn? Where's his thread at???

I think its more to do with the fact that Deegan actually turned in very dominate 250 SX and MX results so much so that he is talked about now and that is why many of you are so angry about it.

Deegan's rookie 250 career start was worse than his 450 start thus far. Then, he improved and maybe that is why you guys are still so mad about it because you know this isn't his ceiling.

I am 100% certain that if any of the other people you mentioned racked up a 250 career like Deegan, people would talk about them more.

It’s probably more to do with the fact that a handful of miserable old men are on here all day everyday bashing the guy trying to create a narrative that 3rd place behind the bros is terrible…. Yet marchbanks in 5th should be celebrated?

It would be a great rookie season for anyone who didn't run their mouth and disrespect the competition that they haven't even raced yet. But when you come in talking smack and get waxed every single weekend without exception, well he just looks like a jackass.

You really don’t think he’s gonna get better in his 2nd year?

I expected him to do much better outdoors. Didnt think he'd beat the Lawrences but at least get a couple moto wins. Rookie SX year will be rough. He should do really well at SMX though. Maybe better than outdoors.

He wouldn’t be so comfortably in third if Prado’s engine didn’t expire early on..

He might improve but I don’t think it will be enough to make any difference to the outcome.

Imagine if that was said about Hunter in his rookie season. Or Chase, or Eli…

They’d be wrong.

Most of Deegan’s loss of points came from penalties, not lack of speed. He’s had an edge on Prado for most of the races.

It’s too bad though some of you have to find a way to not give credit where credit is due.

He'll be finishing worse next outdoor season

As an objective look at his rookie season it has been really solid. Hard to ask for much better. Clear room for improvement with obvious areas for change, while still doing great.

I also gotta say, a whole summer of humble deegs has been nice. Glad to see he can lose with (mostly) grace. The hate for him now is worse than ever, but he was way more annoying last year. By a lot.

But just because of the RIP jett shirt, I gotta say it.

0-22...

Just glad we have another guy at the pointy end.

I must say I never thought Hunter would be beating his brother so I guess there is hope for Deegs. Saying that, really doesn’t seem he gained anything through the season except better starts at the end 🤷‍♂️

I'm mostly surprised at his consistency.

The way he rides the 450, I guessed he'd have tossed away a lot of points. He had some pretty wild get-offs on 250s, but has managed to keep off the deck this year.

His consistency and ability to stay on the bike when he looks like he's riding way outside his limit/on the edge surprises me the most. The amount of times that dude has his feet off the pegs and somehow still stays off the ground must be studied. Didn't live up to the hype, but him and Prado are so much better than the rest of the field it's kinda silly. He's riding great and is style is super fun to watch, but sadly the talk before the season kind of ruined it, should have let the results speak for him. Nobody would say anything if he didn't came out with a RIP Jett shirt.

The fact he is best of the rest, says more about how poor they have been , than anything else.

Has Marchbanks ever been touted as a future 450 champ and the guy who's going to bring down THE Jett Lawrence? Deegz has gotten worked by the weakest version of Jett we've ever seen. Just wait until Jett gets back close to full strength. That's going to negate any improvements Deegz makes his 2nd year. Jett might beat him even worse next year.

Hunter is beating a diminished Jett. Who came back from an injury, in 6 months, that sidelined other top pros an entire year. Still full respect to how incredible Hunter has become. Just saying.

He went 1-1 at Hangtown, Southwick, Spring Creek, and Unadilla. His worst finish was when Hunter was 10 points down. Go figure.

Not sure why you’re dragging Jett into a Deegan accomplishment thread? Oh yeah, to throw dirt, DonJulio
