First off, no hate comms, JT has always been my favourite person to listen to, he was the only person that really spoke sense during claimgate.
This has gone away a little since joining the broadcast, but I understand that.

Is it just me or have the recent review pods been a bit much with the bickering with Steve? I know it’s a 2 way street and I’m not here to shit on JT or Steve, but some of the recent review pods have been a bit of a tough listen at times.

Yeah it has, I always liked JT. He used to be my favorite and was funny. Now it seems like he doesn't understand when Steve is being sarcastic and argues about every little thing. I find myself fast forwarding or not finishing the review pod which used to be my favorite pod.

It's their schtick. It's not serious.

It's boring though. The Vital podcast with ML and Lewis is 10x more enjoyable to listen to these days.

I get that, I have listened to pulp for like 10+ years now.. I’m here for some banter, but at times lately it’s gotten a bit much for me

I love the three of them but I think it’s become tiresome and predictable, for them and the listener.  I think Dan Truman would be amazing on the review pod

Yep, was definitely over the top this pod, alot of talking over the top of one another. Steve has always had an issue with cutting people off, particularly when trying to move to another topic, but now JT has developed this issue with interjecting all the time.

Seems to have gotten worse since the pods went to video. Not sure if there's latency between them that's leading to misinterpreting conversational queues

I’m out on Dan replacing anyone. Someone made a thread a few weeks ago about podcasters talking about knowing something but they can’t talk about it. Dan Truman is the absolute worst about this. If he knows something, great. If you can’t talk about it in the podcast don’t bring it up. Pretty annoying.

ehhhh their back n forth ain’t too bad , compared to the basketball & football podcast I listen to where half of the time their yelling & cussing each other out but it never gets too personal, just passionate dudes tht stands on their viewpoint of basketball & football, they make matthes & JT back n forth look like a Disney tv show family dialogue argument

I've been listening to Pulp so long I don't even remember when I started but Kenny was on there.

The three of them are usually pretty good about yielding to let the other one talk if they have a point they want to make.  I HATE listening to any commentary when people are talking over each other.  When that happens, I immediately turn it off.

I enjoy some of the banter back and forth, but steve takes it too far and drags it on too long sometimes.

I was thinking the same thing while listening on the way to work this morning. I almost turned it off. I feel Steve brings it on more than JT but either way it was more than normal and was getting old.

Ever since getting the broadcast job JT has become a bit too big for his britches.

Dude, just lighten up a little bit.

No doubt, the Mathis review pod is not as good as it used to be.  That two of the guys are on the broadcast and they cannot admit the shortcomings of their product is frustrating and shows it will not improve

I think it’s an ego thing. He can’t help from arguing and trying to sound smart. I used to be that way too…

I would recommend he read the book “think like a monk”.

The problem is Steve more than JT imo. Steve always has to be right and when JT brings up a point that makes Steve look dumb he just moves onto the next subject.

It’s a bit but also a little serious. I love JT though. My only criticism of him is that he’s a little too afraid to say something a rider won’t like and will draw out a qualification of what he’s about to say.

JT: Sighs “my thoughts on Chase Sexton are this. And I totally understand if he gets mad at me for saying this. And I want to say I’ve never been even close to being as fast as Chase. And Chase has earned way more money than I ever did in my racing career. And I could be completely wrong here and I’m willing to admit it. And I won’t be upset if anyone tells me I’m wrong. Chase is an awesome guy and has always treated me well. He might not like me after this and I totally understand that but I think he blames the bike too much.”

Came on here to post the same thing.  This weeks' podcast was bad and I turned it off, then skipped ahead and then turned it back on.  You could tell Steve was frustrated.  Been listening since day one when it was on RacerX Canada, and now about 50% of the time there are parts like a root canal.  In my opinion, JT lost the recipe between Steve's shows which used to be enlightening and funny and not too serious, and carrying his own podcast and TV.  It's entertainment, you are not trying to get every point out there that you saw this weekend and you aren't trying to win a debate, you are trying to entertain the listners.

It's time to bring in a new third person.  Phil, Dan, Paul P, Keefer would all be better choices in my opinion.  Sad day because this was my favorite pod previously.  Now it's Blair Matthes which is a lot better.

Yep here to post the same thing, I was a huge JT fan but it seems like he's just way more tense than he used to be. Listening to the 2013 season reviews for kicks and they were absolute gold. JT$ of 2010-2015 is an entirely different person than now. Steve hasn't changed, he has the same chip he always had but it used to roll off of each of them back then. Now they get hung up on arguing with eachother over every point.

It reminds me of being in a relationship 2 months after it needed to end. And Weege is the third wheel who's awkwardly trying to keep it fun and light.

I listen because JT & Weeg are front line for MX and Matthes is entertaining but the last couple Ive had to turn off because of the bickering and talking over each other.

Maybe Ill call in tonight and make it my Race Tech rant. Moving outta state so may not have time...

love the show, but even I was muttering to myself " c'mon guys" while listening this morning. It got better, but I have to laugh when they find themselves arguing in agreement on a topic...

I’ve felt that way too, but who could blame him? He covers all his bases so that people won’t make assumptions or misconstrue whatever he’s about to say.

JT$ if you’re reading this, I appreciate your content 😎

JT and Matthes family went to Mexico recently on vacation during the Loretta break.  Can't imagine there is a beef. Podcast sounded like more of the same between them nothing special.

I call jts podcast the apology pod. (Not hating), he is just constantly apologizing for having an opinion lol

They always bickered, but it is way worse than it was even at the beginning of the year. I used to be more on JTs side when they argued, but now it’s like he just argues about anything. Then he won’t move on from it when Matthes is trying to move it along, then acts like he is so put out when it runs long.

Ever since PTI (Pardon The Interruption) became a thing in the early 00s, most sports pundits believe 2 guys arguing wedge issues is "the way" in sports media.

Yea I almost made a thread about this one too, holy shit JT was INSUFFERABLE. He got a grudge early and just carried it through to the end wayyy after everyone else had moved on. He just kept bickering and going against the grain over and over and over and over. Tough listen today. If youre on a show you need to know when to let it go so the show can stay listenable. This was bad.

I like to hear JTs insite as its normally pretty good but by the time hes actually gotten to his point youve lost 10mins of your life listening to him try and cover his back before he gives his opinion on something.
I want to listen to his podcast but its too painful. But its litrally just 5mins worth of info, the rest is him apologising for his opinion then saying he doesnt care what people think 🤦🏼‍♂️
