How much do Olympic athletes get paid to represent?

From the IOC?  Nothing unless they medal I don’t think. The countries that send them usually are supporting them though.

Where do people come up with this shit? No one from Hampshire down has even been considered. Feneis? Seriously? Because of one moto? 😂

It’s going to be Marchbanks, Kitchen and Hymas. 3 guys who have had very solid seasons and actually deserve to go. Fucking Feneis 😂 I can’t even believe that was written down like it’d be taken seriously.

Bedbugs have a new take on motocross as of today.

"MXDN is a nothing race, why do we even worry about who goes. It's a waste of time and money"

What is this the 3rd or 4th time DuBoy has done what he can to weasel out of representing the country he waives that flag for.

Question for everybody who is upset about Star Racing Yamaha proactively sending out a press release to notify the Moto-World they are out = If Star said it's a budget issue but if the Great American Motocross patriots step up and put their money where their mouth is . . . How much money would you take out of your pocket to support Star sending riders and bikes to the 2026 MXoN?

How about if the minimum donation were $500.00? This would be great, then somebody from Yamaha management could come online and call everybody unwilling to donate $500 to Team USA a bunch of slackers!!

Anybody unwilling to personally take a hit to their wallet should probably not complain.

Just stop sending a USA team. This shit is ridiculous. They have taken my favorite race of the year and turned it into a circus. It’s not even fun when we can’t or don’t send our best team. Riders don’t care(which I do get the long season), teams don’t care, and even the other counties don’t send their best teams.

Last great race was in 2000.  Are only chance for a rider to win this yr . Is JMart at the vet des nations, more excitement there. IMG 5973

I guess they're going to announce our team at Ironman.  That must mean we have some folks that want it bad enough to overcome whatever obstacles there are.  Hell yeah.  I'll be rootin' for "em.

..apart from the FIM teams that organise a bike for GP riders who want to do an AMA race on off weekends.

The American teams are the ones making that happen btw.

Send Plessinger, Beaumier & Hampshire.

I feel the KTM Europe group would / could accommodate their needs as KTM US did with the Coenens.

No idea if they want go but I feel like they’d be proud to represent and would give it their best .

You really think they would bar the entire team from participating just to cover for Deegan? You haters are actually mentally insane

Do we really think J Coop and Dbag combo could beat Herlings and De Wolf? I doubt that.

LOL...And YOU think Star wouldn't do what they need to do to protect their golden child?  Think again.

Tell us, why has Star had zero issue sending their riders in the past WHO did WANT to go.

Time for you to find a different hero.

As mentioned by a number of folks...RJ has said he's not going this year due to switching bikes.

Star is fed up with the event and finally putting their foot down. It’s pretty black and white.

Okay, honestly. I am no fan of Star or Deegan. But name me one other pro racing series where teams and competitors do ANY event for free? Sorry, racing is a business and big money is being made at the Des Nations. The FIM and Infront can afford to share with the teams and riders taking the risks and putting on the show.

Don’t they actually pay money to race each weekend? The teams aren’t getting any purse money unless there is something going on the backside that isn’t publicized. The only series that pays the teams is WSX I believe.

You know that the American teams are the ones footing the bill for that right? Right?

Star’s decision is fine by me, but I do have to question why the top US teams don’t seem to budget for this race when they are planning the season’s expenses. Clearly they don’t see the value of participating when the race is overseas. Just wish they would just come out and say that.

It begs the question: who is this race for, anyway? It seems like only us boomer fans even think it’s worth attending or paying attention to. As I mentioned in other threads, imo this race is for those guys who want to prove that they are the best motocross racer in the world.  Everything else is just noise.

That's a strong team.  There's no telling where they stand against Deegan until they meet.  It's a bummer Deegan isn't racing.

The rest of the world just breathed a sigh of relief knowing Deegan won't be there to whoop their butts. Having said that, I am very disappointed with Star Yamaha for not letting Deegan go kick some ass.

It’s just a race for the fans. 87 Micky Diamond raced a couple 125 gps & dominated trying to get a spot on the team. And he was the current 125 national champion & in 86. . Yet a washed up Hannah who didn’t race a 125 in yrs was chosen. Because he’s a fan favorite.

What you are describing in your last paragraph would be an individual world championship race, not a team race. In a team race overall point management often trumps individual results. Could Stewart have beaten Everts? I have no idea, but I do know his team told him not to get drawn in and to hold position.
