Mr.America can’t pony up a few thousand to go represent his country. I’m not even American but it’s the same here. There’s a type of person the flies the flag every opportunity they get for their own benefit and those people are last in line to make an actual sacrifice for their country.

I'm just here to see the comments from the stupid fucks that don't understand where the sport is at today, finances, timing and the fact that this MXON thing is yesterday's news for American teams.

Is Deegan the only current "star" globally that is opting out of MXoN this year?  And I am making a massive ass-umption when I say Deegan is personally opting out.  But anybody else?

Smart financial decision. Look up how much the promoter makes from this race and then how much it costs teams to go to this race. It's a no brainer for American teams not wanting to front the costs anymore. Have the team and riders healthy and prepared for SMX where the riders can actually take home a great paycheck. Good move Yamaha.

Lol, pro racing is a marketing expense, not a revenue generating business. They backed out because they don’t think they can get the results that would justify the expense, bottom line.

USA couldn’t get there fast enough when they were winning thirteen straight.

Well we actually had a magazine editor get behind fundraising efforts that actually raised enough money to help defer the costs...but in todays world we have a golf tournament and sell t-shirts that probably raise more than back then but probably not much more and with the the costs have increased it's not enough...

Hymas or Kitchen on a 450? Either one makes me nervous...

I'm not even mad about Marchbanks, I think he'll surprise.

Let me ask everyone that is bitching...did you donate to RaisIt4USA? if not why? would you be open to a $.50 surcharge on SX/MX/SMX race tickets to defer the costs?

Maybe SMX should require riders to race the MXDN if they want to collect their winnings from the finals?

Star hates America

This is it. If deegan was hell bent on going and representing for usa there isnt a chance in hell star says nope too bad you cant go. NOT A CHANCE. This is deegan pulling out AGAIN and yet again getting covered for. If the same exact thing happens every single year its not a coincidence. Captain America is all talk… again.

Okay, honestly. I am no fan of Star or Deegan. But name me one other pro racing series where teams and competitors do ANY event for free? Sorry, racing is a business and big money is being made at the Des Nations. The FIM and Infront can afford to share with the teams and riders taking the risks and putting on the show.

Yamaha Press Release: Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing to Withdraw from Consideration for 2026 MXoN

Marietta, GA — 8/23/26 — Due to the demanding schedule of the SMX series, and after factoring in the associated travel and support costs, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing and Yamaha Motor USA have collectively decided to withdraw both its 250 and 450 teams from consideration in participating in the upcoming 2026 MXoN in Ernée, France.

"After numerous discussions between the team principals and Yamaha management, both Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing and Yamaha Motor USA have collectively made the difficult decision to step back from this year’s MXoN competition,” said Jim Roach, Yamaha Racing Manager.

“We’re choosing to prioritize the health and safety of our riders, which includes affording them, and the entire team, a period of time to recover from the 2026 season. When you factor in the logistical challenges and costs of shipping and converting bikes to FIM spec, the team respectfully wants to stay focused on its continued preparation for the upcoming 2027 SMX season.”

The team expresses its gratitude to the AMA for consideration, and appreciates its fans, partners, and the broader moto community for their understanding and support.

Unfortunately, Haden plays the patriotic game but it's all about the money. Everything seems to be about the money. Brian, how about you and Haden pony up and send him to the race? Is there any sacrifice you can make for the country that has given you soooo much?

Yes indeed this country has given the Deegans the life they have.
Some folks just dont get it.

Partly true, but the main issue with most people is the guy who wraps himself up in the US flag when it suits, but goes AWOL every year when it comes to backing it up on the World Stage. He could cover Star's cost of getting his bike out there for less than he spends on a watch, but he doesn't want to go - that's all it is.

Stop with the corny MXoN selection.

Only if you “want to go” for team USA.

I just don’t feel the MXoN is that big of a race. Don’t see the importance of it. I love anything Moto and have paid to watch MXoN for years.

In the end, it’s most likely going to go away for USA. As a fan, I really don’t care.

IMG 0186 3Herrlich/Don Julio is offering up one of his own (#44) autographed jerseys with the proceeds to fund Dangers flight to DesNations.

He is also offering to let Danger pilot his race bike with a throw back to the yellow machines.
