Bondo - Weekly Complaint box

When Ken and Hunter were that close there should have been no option to go split screen. There has been tons of dumb shit this year but this one takes the cake. They were talking all day about this potential battle and as soon as we got it they split to  guys over 10 seconds off the lead. At this point I think he is actively trying to get himself fired. 

Honestly this product isn't for me. The championship story is great, but I want to see racing too. They basically followed 5 guys around for both mains. Every other word is "incredible" or some other superlative and they just talk about how good the rider in focus is doing off the back of such and such adversity. Outside of deegan's pussy footing, there's just not much racing on screen. 

With feld being feld and Pelletier being pelletier, I think I'm tuning out next year unless deegan makes it interesting in a WWE sort of way. Gonna watch wsbk or imsa or something instead. 

Kudos to KR tho, so well deserved. 

If it was still sponsored like it used to be (Thor Battle Box), I could see why they’d run it. But if no one is paying for it, why the hell do we need to see a battle for 6th/7th while the two dudes going for the championship are running 1-2 and less than a second apart? 

With like 5 mins to go, they were so close zoomed in on Kenny you couldn’t see anyone behind him and that’s as the whole pack was closing on Kenny and massive battle heading his way.

But they just kept it zoomed close and talked about Kenny lmao meanwhile hornets nest heading his way.

There was a serious race going on for the CHAMPIONSHIP with Kenny and Lawrence and we have to share the screen with, Seventh Place. 

NO ONE GIVES A SHIT about seventh place today. Championship. End of Series. Winner Take all. 

Who the hell makes these decisions. Read the damn room. Its like the guys that film the races Each week, has no idea what is going on. 

Props to DB calling this bullshit out. 

I'm a guy who NEVER complains about the broadcast. I'm from the old days when we'd have to call a 900-number the morning after a race to get the results. or worse, wait until the weekly Cycle News hit my mailbox. but...

...how a bunch of people can sit in a production meeting and decide that--in the midst of one of the best points battle in recent SX history, with it all on the line--that people actually give a shit about who's in 6th place. Who said "hey, instead of focusing all our coverage on the race for the championship, let's do a split screen an take that focus away so we can so the battle for 6th?" 

I really would like to know what was inside the minds of the producers who thought this was a good idea. I try to defend them most of the time, but it's getting more difficult.

Something I quite liked today was when they went to (perhaps only a few times?) the 2 "Battle Boxes' ( I think that's what they are called?) they put the placings list across the top, and had two different sized Screens / Boxes - so the bigger one was just that - Far bigger than when the placings list is vertical on the LH side.

I wish they'd have the placings list at the bottom, or the top, all the bloody time, so we can see more of the racing.  I Hate the LH vertical side placings list, with it also being Not right up against the screen side. 

Didn't we have Katie Osborne this week? Hayley is by far the best of the track side peeps. Katie was better last year not sure what's been going on with her, but I agree not great.

A lot was missed this week, ridiculous. 

The production is dire at the moment. 

Stop cutting to JT or Will every 5 minutes. 

Stop inserting riders talking during the racing.

Make RC (indoors) and Stew (outdoors) go to speech therapy until they can string a sentence together without stuttering OR hire actual commentators. 

Ah yep my bad. Yes Katie. 

Get a ton of stationary cameras on side of track. 
Mount them on 360 controlled tripods inside of turns. 

How hard is this to get good production to show the speed and ruts and up close what this sport is. 

Or we can hear about some stupid ass fluff and personality traits. 

Do we need these GIANT Headers during the race?

its an old thing and just because 2.moto is live on TV and between commercial break on tv channel 

I know some of you like it, but they show these when they stop talking. Make no sense and it would be much better of they keep the scoring on the side

I absolutely hatred then because they asd no value, and while they are showing something on 8th place I still want to see timing and scoring.

HOWEVER I think they only do that while some people are getting commercials. Might have to do with regional broadcasts.

I get why they are doing it. They are just way too big and get in the way of the footage. They could tighten up the scoring on the side as well as the split screen footage. It’s all been talked about before.

What you’re proposing is technically difficult. There’s a practical limit to the number of camera feeds a tv production van can manage at any given time. “Tons” of trackside cameras is not manageable. Not to mention the cost of “tons” of operators for them. And even if you’re proposing that the cameras run unmanned, it would still take more technicians to set them up and maintain them. 
And I am sure you have been to a national mx event before, so you probably know that an unattended camera would get either blocked or even outright stolen by unscrupulous “fans.”

I "love" how as we get Screech back we get 1min stories about the Lawrence family dynamic influenced by Dazzy.

Hunter and Jett have been in the 450s alone for 3yrs at this stage. We get it. 

Also Stew, please learn the difference between confident and confidence and when/how to use them.
