I always enjoyed riding slower bikes fast more so than fast bikes slow. Especially at 155lbs. Even when I dabbled with track days, the small bores were more fun.
Which do y'all prefer?
I think it would be a blast to race a KX112 Supermini in the Vet Novice class 😀
350f
I have a 450 and feel way more in control smooth and flowing over banging gears and revving out a 250
tree fiddy!

That would be a blast! I (as an adult normally racing A class) took my mom's KX85 out for C class practice once and laid waste to the 450 C riders. It was a riot. My son has a Lynks 112 Husqvarna and that bike is legitimately fast. Its like full 125 power and 50 lbs lighter.
Well, I'd say Smooth and Fast, whatever the bloody capacity / type of bike you are on.
I can do Smooth - I've always worked on that.
Fast?, well, that's relative...........
350, can ride it both ways 👍
But I can't decide which way to go as my 2nd bike. 250f to help with the aggressive side or 450 to help with the smooth side. Might just have to have all 3.
I only own a 250 2 stroke these days.. feels like I’m bubba in 03 but in reality I’m slow AF..
I don’t really care how fast I am these days, and the fun level is unmatched!
Sounds a lot cooler riding the 250 fast
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
I short shift my 450 and find it helps make me smoother, if I bang the rev limiter a lot I find it harder to control the bike more, weird but that's just how I feel
There’s actually being fast, and then there’s feeling fast. Riding a low horsepower bike WFO, throttle pinned, while dancing on the shifter, just feels more fun than gliding around the track in 3rd gear and never having to shift. Even though that’s likely way faster.
350 at a medium pace
I'm recently back on a 450 for the first time in a while. Not sure if my logic holds any weight but I feel like I'm not willing to be aggressive as I once was (age, having a child at home etc). And I thought I would try to alter my technique a bit and just try and work on roll speed and being smooth. And I thought a 450 would probably help with that. So far, in certain areas I do feel like I've made some progress but I'm still not sure if I'm being too passive now or not. Just trying to find my groove. I only have 4 rides on the 450.
Right now I’m riding a 500, sort of smooth and undoubtedly slow..
450. Smooth, lazy, and fun. What all vets should want.
Since I rode my 450 slow I’ll pick the slow and smooth option.
Of of my favorite bikes of all time was a 1991 KDX200. Slow and smooth and the most fun to ride
I ride everything slow so whatever bike I have fun on at the moment.
Pit Row
Plus 50 here... 250fs are like play bikes with good suspension.... 450s can be gnarly beasts that wanna rip your arms out of the socket... ya, imma 250f guy now days... loll...
I rode mx on a 450. It was just too easy to short shift and hop over everything chugging along. Especially at 170 pounds. Downside was after 5 or 6 laps my arm pump was terrible. Once I moved to woods riding the short shitfing continues. Was on a 250xcf that I just went up a tooth and kept the revs low and momentum up. Same applies to the yz250x I had and now the 250xc tbi. For me pushing each gear to the limit is a blast but gear high and carry speed is substantially faster. Dont really matter what bike it is.
125 or 250F.
