I was going off this picture in particular, but I believe it is the low hanging engine that was making me believe it was short.
Gas tank looks really small, and 500s are thirsty. Forks look saggy. But there’s a market for big bores so maybe it’s worth looking closer?
What size tank do you think is on the bike? Looks 2.0 gallons or so to me, though hard to really tell for sure.
So, not legal in the 500 class then.

It’s hard to tell, but it’s very narrow between the knees, I’m guessing 1.8-2.0 gallons? That’s 30-35 miles on the KX500s I used to ride.
My old 84 had a 2.5 gallon or so tank, and it wouldn't do a 50 mile cross country.
But that bike is in MX trim correct? So 2.0 would be fine.
When I decide to dip my toe in the chinese motorcycle waters it will definitely be a 500cc two-stroke motocrosser
Needs a power valve, six speed, and fuel/oil injection.
What 500 class?
I think in today's market, most of the buyers are 30+, so it is an open class, maybe they are looking at those gents.
Yup, they added 1mm to the bore, to produce a 90mm x 79mm Monster!!!!!!
What About The Children ?- We'll All Be Killed!
They've picked an Engine that I fondly refer to as being barely above BSA Bantam Technology ( that offends many, But I own and ride a bloody CRE500) and done ' just a a bit ' to it.
It's an interesting thing, as I've written a few times.
There’s some decent stuff coming out of china. A non power valve or counterbalanced 500 two stroke isn’t it.
Uh…”Open”? 😎
Yeah, this is a toy at best, certainly not something for anyone who intends to use it competitively. Could be an arm-stretching, laugh-a-minute toy… and it might just vibrate itself to pieces. Still a potential hoot. $3500 would make me look 2-3 times…
What if it dont suck?
I attended the MXGP of Shanghai last year. Saw and heard this bike in person. Met the guys behind it. I can't speak to the quality or ride but the bike looks very well engineered. They are all passionate MX and enduro riders that are simply trying to grow the Chinese off-road market in the right direction.
One of the guys behind ROCS is a multi-time Chinese national MX champ, is an engineer and also did Dakar a few years ago. He also lurks... right here often 👀
I didn't really know what to expect at the MXGP but was pleasantly surprised by the attendance (there were ads all over Shanghai for the race... airports, highway, bus stops, etc.). A good portion of the crowd seemed pretty new to moto, but there was definitely an informed audience too.
Moto is growing pretty rapidly in China, no doubt about it. Might be more of the electric/Sur Ron variety at the moment, but off-road in general is on the rise.
bayodome : " Moto is growing pretty rapidly in China, no doubt about it. Might be more of the electric/Sur Ron variety at the moment, but off-road in general is on the rise."
I've always said, that if Moto / Offroad caught on in China, and / or India , it would make the 1970s Dirt Bike boom in the USA and elsewhere, look miniscule.
I wonder what sort of gearbox ratios it may have?
I've wanted, as a final modification for my CRE500, a HRC wide ratio gearbox, but, what I can find, is either wildly expensive, or, in the case of Panthera offering a replica set, I'd not trust them to make anything remotely well / trustworthy, after their POS Electric Start.
Pit Row
What a stupid, useless bike. I love it!!!
😄
I just hope the Chinese send over some 10,000.00 trucks.
WTF. Can China actually come up with their own ideas instead of copying elements from every real manufacturer?
You’re not seriously expecting them to reinvent the dirt bike right? Single cylinder, liquid cooled, disk braked, single shocked bikes are the standard. You certainly aren’t expecting them to try to break into this traditionally conservative market by doing a Cannondale right?
Oooooooh, a chinese Cannondale knock-off... That would sell, for sure.
😂
A Channdondale if you would. 😂
