it didn't used to be like that...many insiders and riders where in here but then the FB/Insta trolls started coming in here and literally ran them all off while hiding behind a keyboard...not one of these/those Morans would ever say what they say on here to anyones face...just look at any Raceday thread and it becomes very clear who these trolls are...

You aren't lying. This place has been brutal lately. I rarely chime in anymore because it's just cluttered with idiots. I read and then I move on.

I was listening to the Keefer "Summer School" Millville recap and they were saying the AMA has not paid out any purse money yet through 7 rounds of the Outdoor series to any of the riders. It usually deposited weekly and Im sure there are some guys who could use that money to get to the races.

This is the post that started it all. Or I should say, this is the “dark corner of the internet” that dared to mention what one well-connected industry insider said on his podcast. All “20” of us then lept into action, with our pitchforks and whatnot. 5 days and 10 pages later, the truth was finally revealed… or was it??

Not to talk from the dark corners of the internet, but DC is like a lot of the media when he cannot waste an opportunity to disparage, insult, or condescend to the fans. How about instead of "dark corners" it can be stated "concerned fans" or "fans concerned for the riders", which it is. And whether DC is bullshitting us, or Uptite is, it really doesn't matter. Until this matter was made public and the "dark corners" erupted it was unresolved. Interestingly enough when it was made public a resolution not coming in 7 weeks suddenly appeared. I found the quote "almost every rider has been paid like usual" interesting - almost? As well as the paying 80 riders every two weeks statement, as if paying 80 people is some sort of herculean task and something to boast about or it is charity rather than money earned. I would be certain there are plenty of people on this very forum who manage to pay at least 80 people a week successfully, not almost all their people paid, but all their people paid. The statement from DC was probably written by his sister the lawyer anyway, if not gone over. I also found it odd the Keefers did not talk to MX Sports about this in seven weeks, isn't DC MX Sports? Isn't he old man Keefer's boss? After all the years of running the nationals you would think there would be a more fool proof way to pay people making the show.

Insufferable.

Out here in the real world these type of issues are common. Issues come up, issues are addressed, issues are resolved, and on to the next thing. Nobody is trying to pocket this kid's purse money.

And  before you remind us for the 1000th time you used to own a business, I don't care.

Comical. I don't recall me mentioning in that post that I owned a business, but your interest in my previous posts and you recognizing me is creepy, do you know my kid's names? I have no idea what any of your previous posts are about, I assume we are anonymous for a reason, sorry. That I care if it matters to you anything about me is a gross overvaluation of yourself. There is relevance to me owning a business in this topic though, I did not live in this world you mention, this world of compromised obligations, responsibility, expectations, and effort. In my world you had to live above reproach, that means to live above valid criticism, sorry again. In my world it takes a lifetime to build a reputation and one moment to destroy it. You know who you are indebted to and you follow through, period. This is about being a decent person. You do not own a multi-million-dollar business in my world and owe a 20-year-old 2K for 7 weeks because he lacks a W9, you tell him he needs a W9, you keep track of and run things. Nobody is saying Coombs was keeping this kid's money, but he owns the organization, so organize, this should have been handled WELL BEFORE it became public not after. I know of the world you described, embrace, and accept, the "my bad" world. Missed child support payments, skipping out on that last month's rent, maybe one or two items "missing" the scanner at self-checkout, cardboard in that broken window rather than plywood, but I do not accept it as normal or a goal. I do not misinterpret or misrepresent irresponsibility or mistakes as an "issue". But just like problems have become "challenges", and dumb has become "uniformed", in your world even the words have changed to lessen responsibility. Revel in your compromise.

Keefer misspoke, has since owned it and apologized.

People reacted to the bad info. Most reactions were plenty reasonable for a message board. Some were over the top and easy enough to scroll past if you wanted to.

People reacting finally got the problem fixed where it hadn't been previously fixed for two months.

DC, the supposed grown up in the room, took shots at his fan base when a simple and less woe is me response would have done the job just fine. Could have just explained it and advocated for the riders but his thin skin wouldn't allow it. Wonders why he catches criticism.....

If you follow the board enough you pick up on amusing patterns and styles.  You consistently use your former business ownership as a stepping stool to get on your high horse and spew a load of drivel and assumptions, like ^ this post. I was merely saying save it, I don't care.

My "real world" issue last week was my daughter graduated college but her diploma was being held back due to a tuition issue that came about because one of her scholarships didn't fund. I asked her if she had done x, y and z, and she said oops she did x and y but not z. I blame her for being a 22 year old that failed to follow very simple instructions. You would have been one of those cackling hens on the university parents' forum carrying on about how the university and grantor failed your "child". That last part was an assumption on my part but apparently those are fair game in your world. I'm off to check in with my parole officer and to steal Doritos from Walmart.

This isn't the first time this guy thinks he's anonymously posting under the same name he posts with every time.  He owns a business, and he will never buy another KTM because they treated him poorly and states it every chance he gets.  People pick up on these patterns when you say the same shit over and over.  The question is, why doesn't he remember?

Hmmm...If it took you three months to set up an LLC in SC , you're not doing something right.

Per Google, SC has an online process to apply for an LLC and the turnaround time to get it all done is about a week.

People reacted to the bad info. Most reactions were plenty reasonable for a message board. Some were over the top and easy enough to scroll past if you wanted to.

LOL!! his fan base 😂....All one has to do is read through this thread (or any thread that he is mentioned in) to see how his "fan base" on the dark side of message boards reacts to anything DC....Good for him on calling out the trolls that attempt to belittle him at every turn....

I never read the names, I assume the names are anonymous for a reason. I may be in the dark, forgive me, but I do not link the names to the posts. I did not know it was of such crucial importance. Perhaps I am callous, but I really don't give a shit, I mean I hope your life is good I suppose. And I don't shit on KTM for how they treated me, I thought and think paying suppliers 30 cents on a dollar is shitty while management bought multi-million dollar properties.

You sure it wasn't your POS 390 that originally tainted your thoughts about KTM?

Never owned a 390. My 1190 Adventurer was pretty shitty, but I still bought a 250 and 350 after that bike's "issues". No my problem with KTM was/is their corporate irresponsibility. I've bought a Beta 430 since but still own the 250 and 350, with a Beemer replacing the 1190, for all those taking notes.

He has posted he is getting ready to retire soon. Very good chance that when he set his up that it was not as easy as it is now.  I know that when I first looked into it myself in MA it was much more complicated than it is now.   Laws change and things have gotten easier. Doing it online wasn't a thing when I first looked into it.

I applied for an S Corp in 99 and I had an ein number, a bank account and a credit line within a week. But the better question is why would a 19 year old kid with zero assets making 4K from racing motorcycles need a LLC?

Issue with that is that he was using the difficulty of setting up an LLC as being a blocker for riders who might be looking at setting up an LLC.  Spreading false info on the topic doesn't help anyone.

Did you do it in the same state as Lumpy? It's not a federal thing, the process isn't  exactly the same in every state.  He was going off his experience.  Seriously  what did he have to gain by offering up plausible explanations?  Nothing, but he gets to have people question everything he said and accuse him of lying for whatever reason.

Well there are the tax benefits from incorporating  and then there are the liability benefits. So could be either ,both or neither. But its a normal thing for racers to have an LLC.

He is for sure spending a ton more than he is making.  Honda pays contingency, and there are a bunch of  brands that  have a contingency like program , or there were the last time I had looked into it.

The team might require  him having an LLC to ride for them. He might have done it just because other riders did. Many legit reasons .  It might look or sound suspicious because You guys are looking for it to be.

Some riders  buy their way onto team's. Not saying this is the case with Keefer. But there are riders who have somebody willing to pay to get them on the team. And in that case the person funding the ride may have legit reasons for wanting an LLC.

You guys can believe it or not.

My Point is paperwork must be filed and filled in correctly with the proper authorities.

Another point you guys may not be aware of is Pro racers are now incorporating their racing as a business LLC. Creating a LLC takes months with attorneys filling paperwork to the Secretary of State and being approved so then different paperwork must then be refiled with MXSports.

Thank you DC taking the necessary time to do proper research and clarifying this accurately.

What 3 months ? I used Zen buisness it took 10 minutes to fill out questions if that. Next day I had a email with my ein/ tax id #.  I took that to a chase bank & opened a buisness account , got a cc with my buisness name too.  A record # of Americans started a LLC in the past 6 yrs.  Super easy to do .

With a S Corp you hv to do quarterly taxes.penalties r brutal for not filing quarterly.  Only benefit ovr a LLC is that you can fire yourself & get unemployment.  You can write off all expenses for your business as a LLC.

He was using his experience as an example. Its not false info, it was his personal experience and used as an example to show that a kid doing it for the first time could very likely make a mistake filling out some forms.

Have You ever made a mistake?  all it would take is to leave the area blank where something should have been filled in and then they wouldn't have the info to file the form.   You know they say the truth is stranger than fiction right?

I'm still dealing with somee medical bills from December of last year because of incompetence and people screwing up. First my Dr. then just about every person at every step ,People whos' job it is to do that stuff.  Nevermind a kid and his parents doing it for maybe the second time, maybe the first.  I don't see any reason MX sports would hold onto the funds on purpose.

What is the alternative? MX sports was holding onto the money intentionally avoiding paying? Why? Who benefits from it?  People make mistakes. As uninteresting as it may be, sometimes shit just happens.
